MINUTES

Call to Order – 6:30pm 2. Welcome and Introductions 3. Declaration of Pecuniary Interest – Howard Klein, John Bozzo to fund request for Paint the Town Red Community Association 4. Approval of Agenda – Marion Morewood 5. Guest Presentation – Gian Carlo DiGiambattista – Beautification Request – planters, financial assistance with patio and land improvement. PCBIA not permitted to fund improvements to private property. ACTION: Ellen Timms to recap meeting in email to Gian Carlo DiGiambattista and offer to attend a tenant meeting to discuss BIA benefits.

6. Approval of Previous Meeting Minutes – October 25, 2016 MOTION: Peter Whitaker moved and Howard Klein seconded the minutes from October 25, 2016 be approved. Carried. ACTION: Staff to request events seeking PCBIA funding provide succession and sustainability plans with request. – Events were notified and some have addressed in funds request. ACTION: Lighting – discuss Benson development with Jim Tovey. Review opportunities in strategic planning. ACTION: Succession planning – Executive Committee to work up strategy with staff.

7. Executive Report – Ric Cooper 8. Financial Report – Howard Klein

Draft Budget Presentation: Second round of budget planning. Final approval will be given on January 11, 2017 meeting. Current increase of under 8%.

9. Staff Report  Events for October – Small Business Month successful – Breakfast with Mayor well attended  Attending Tourism Board and part of Tourism Masterplan Study  Working through new Memorandum of Understanding with Southside Shuffle and City – Mississauga Musical Walk of Fame

 Attended Remembrance Day march and ceremonies – sound system needed. Could be PCBIA contribution – to investigate.  Retained Phil Leconte (Port Credit Comedy Fest) as new Producer for Busker Fest.  Jake Pedler spoke on staff behalf at TOPCA AGM outlining PCBIA activities and strategies.  Marketing theme for November and December is “Shop Local” backed with aggressive social media campaign.  Breakfast and Mix after Six Meetings continue with good attendance.  Currently working on Christmas at the Lighthouse – lighting sponsored by Peel Chrysler FIAT  Caroling in the Park slightly reinvented this year with musical performance and sing-along provided byTROX staff and students. Refreshments purchased through member businesses.

10. Committee Reports 1. Executive Committee: - New assessment amounts will not be available until December – anticipated increase. - Discussed perceived and real conflicts of interest with board and staff affiliation with other boards receiving PCBIA funding – will bring forward to Strategic Plan review. - Board engagement – bring forward to Strategic Planning review. - Strategic Planning – suggested date – January 22nd. - Discussion for PCBIA to reimburse cost of flags and banners installed in BIA – bring forward to board for decision – Executive Committee prepared to support request - Discussion about PCBIA and Canada Day team collaborating to produce the event. Memorandum of Understanding would be in place – Canada Day team can continue to plan and execute the event with PCBIA support. Howard Klein to bring matter to Canada Day team for consideration. 2. Beautification Committee: - Meeting with Suregreen Landscaping regarding lighting. Combination of laser twinkly lights and LED rope lighting to be used. - Enersource has repaired electrical source in decorative lighting.

11. New Business – Approval of expenditure for Canada Day banners. Requested by John Bozzo, representing Paint the Town Red Community Association. Budget shortfall due to 2 of 3 Port Credit BIA

unexpected increase in expenses. Banners and flags were installed in BIA and used for summer décor. Paint the Town Red Community Association Board is working toward a Memorandum of Understanding to present to the PCBIA board with the intent to transfer the primary ownership role to the PCBIA. John Bozzo and Howard Klein excused themselves from the meeting because of their conflict of interest as board members of both organizations.

MOTION: Peter Whitaker moved by and seconded by Marion Morewood that the PCBIA reimburse Canada Day for $5,000.00 for cost of flags and banners installed during summer months from the PCBIA banner budget. Passed.

MOTION: Moved by Marion Morewood and seconded by Jake Pedler that the Policy and Procedures Committee review banner placement for outside groups and create policy. Passed.

Peter Whitaker asked to join the Sponsorship and Parking Committees.

Development Committee to be formed. Jake Pedler agreed to Chair. 12. Future Meeting Dates: No December Board Meeting Year-End Dinner – December 13th Networking Breakfast – Dec 15th – Councillor Tovey speaks

Strategic Planning Session – January 22nd – Spice Lounge
