We, if we're not careful, are bleeding all over the world." — Bono 25 YEARS OF WAR: LOVE ON THE ALBUM WAR Jim Henke tells @U2 what he thinks made War U2's 'rst great album'@U2 March 01, 2008by Scott Calhoun To mark the silver anniversary of the release of War, we asked Jim Henke, chief curator of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Museum and former music editor for Rolling Stone magazine, to help us take a look back. Henke was there when U2 was setting out for America for the rst time. He wrote the rst prole of the band to appear in a major U.S. magazine and put these 50 states on notice with his Feb. 19, 1981, article "U2: Here Comes the 'Next Big Thing.'" Two years later, even though U2 had war on the brain, Henke's June 9, 1983, prole made the point that "Blessed Are the Peacemakers." Henke would eventually write several stories about U2 for Rolling Stone while on staff from 1977 to 1992, including proles, reviews and the Rolling Stone interview with The Edge in 1988. There was a time when "New Year's Day" and "Sunday Bloody Sunday" were new releases, not the stadium-pounding anthems concert crowds expect to hear today.

    2018 APOSTOLIC PRAISE CHORUSBOOK The 2018 Apostolic Praise© Chorusbook combines a unique compilation of 130 choruses, written chiefly for those who have gone through the Apostolic Praise© series who wish to enlarge their repertoire of songs. It contains a wide variety of songs, from old standards such as “Wonderful Peace” to Gospel choruses such as “Saved” “Power” and “Breakthrough” to more contemporary songs such as “Jesus Messiah.” However, what makes this chorusbook different is the fact that the songs are not written with just the basic, easy, boring chords, as most lead sheets are. Instead, the songs have been totally re­written with advanced, full­sounding chords, giving the musician that plays them a very professional sound. When the musician plays “O I Want To See Him” the Apostolic Praise© way, it won’t be with just the simple I­IV­V chords. Instead, it is going to have a variety of complex, beautiful­sounding chords that will make the song sound more modern. Gulley. Good News About the Time of Trouble Norman R. Gulley School of Religion Southern Adventist University Near the beginning of a recent semester a student blurted out in my “Last Day Events” class, “I want to go to heaven via the resurrection!” Another stu- dent told me, “I don’t want to run to the mountains in the great time of trouble!” In an anonymous questionnaire taken by students in Last Day Events classes at Southern Adventist University the following data surfaced: 1. 49% worried about the present pre-advent judgment. 2. 56% were scared of last day events. 3. 41% would rather die than go through last day events. 4. 37% believed we gain entrance to heaven through Christ’s sacrifice plus our human works. 5. 50% were not sure if they would be saved if they died today. 6. 88% claimed they know Christ as a personal friend. This is a stunning revelation, when you realize these students represent a cross section of Seventh-day Adventist youth, from around the States and other countries, studying a variety of majors. These may be among the final genera- tion, yet do not want to be.

I have not found anything objectionable and anything contrary to the Church’s authentic authority on faith and morals. Reading these books and meditating on the contents are spiritually beneficial to all. I recommend these books to every Christian.
