JOB TITLE: Project Manager – Joining Forces

LOCATION: Age UK Newcastle Headquarters

RESPONSIBLE TO: Head of Community Services

GRADE: £ 22, 221 - £25, 472 per annum (pro rata)

HOURS: 17.5 hours

1. Purpose of the post a) To provide robust and effective project management to ensure successful delivery of Joining Forces, an Age UK Tyne and Wear Consortium programme led by Age UK Newcastle, supporting older veterans.

b) The post holder will be responsible for managing project deliverables through a steering group chaired by Age UK Newcastle’s Head of Community Services and comprising representatives from Age UK North Tyneside, Age UK Gateshead and Age UK Sunderland.

2. Duties and Responsibilities a) To manage projects within the Joining Forces Programme, ensuring they are successfully delivered within agreed timescales and resources, ensuring consistency with the overall programme and identifying key issues and interfaces with wider programme activity across the Age UK Portfolio and liaising with the Age UK national programme manager. . b) Ensure project objectives, resource requirements, tasks and benefits are clearly identified and defined and establish effective arrangements for tracking progress and reporting the realisation of benefits.

c) To ensure all stakeholders are clearly identified at all stages of the project and an effective communications plan is established and implemented to support ongoing engagement.

d) To work in partnership with the Head of Community Services and consortium partners to ensure robust governance and reporting arrangements for the project which comply with the overall programme requirements.

e) Line management of the Advice and Support Worker (Joining Forces) employed by Age UK Newcastle to deliver the project.

f) To proactively manage risks and issues associated with the projects and wider programme and ensure appropriate reporting and escalation. g) To constantly monitor and report on progress of the project to all relevant stakeholders including Age UK consortium brand partners on the Programme Steering Group.

h) To develop and maintain all project documentation and reporting arrangements in line with the programme framework.

i) To deliver specific areas of the project plan as agreed with the Head of Community Services and Programme Steering Group; this could include activities related to; service redesign, co production and co design, involvement, consultation and engagement, workforce development and training, communications.

j) To be an ambassador for the Joining Forces Programme, proactively seeking opportunities to maximise the success of the programme and proposing creative solutions for service transformation to ensure value for money and efficient use of resources.

k) To contribute fully to the Joining Forces Programme, adopting a flexible approach to work across all Brand Partners within the programme in order to support delivery.

l) To write reports and maintain all monitoring systems providing monthly management information to the Head of Community Services.

m) To work within agreed budgets and deliver all relevant targets.
