PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE Gartner 2012 – Present Managing Partner Leader of multi-million dollar business unit with total P&L responsibility, leadership of multiple consulting delivery teams, area business development and cultivation of executive relationships at the highest levels of government.

 Guiding development of State of Carolina’s technology infrastructure consolidation, strategic sourcing plan and cloud adoption strategy – as 27 state agencies shift to a shared services model.

 Trusted advisor and program manager to two Hawaii Governors’ administrations. Revived a failing $30M statewide technology modernization program experiencing significant work stoppages and business stakeholder misalignment. Engaged business sponsors, renegotiated vendor contracts and established detailed internal operations/service management processes which delivered a nationally recognized program and saved Hawaii $2.5M in the first year.

 Recruited by the Undersecretary at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs into a highly visible and politically-exposed position to drive innovation into the development of a 21st century service delivery model. Enhanced collaboration with 50 state-level/8,000 county-level business stakeholders to resurrect a project focused on eliminating a huge veterans’ claims backlog. Project has been selected to be included in the White House’s 21st Century Management Agenda as an example of innovation in government. United States Navy 1997-Present Commander (Select)/Intelligence Officer Eighteen years of military leadership experience as an active duty and reserve officer with multiple tours assigned to Navy SEAL teams, including a combat deployment to Iraq. Currently serving as Executive Officer of a Navy Intelligence Reserve unit. Assigned increasingly responsible leadership billets, including oversight for strategic planning, budgeting, training and work plan creation for three Office of Naval Intelligence-sponsored Special Programs. State of California, Officer of the Governor 2011 - 2012 Deputy Secretary, Veterans Affairs Appointed to Governor Jerry Brown’s executive leadership team to turn around an historically low-performing state agency encompassing 2,200 personnel and an annual budget of $363M.

 Led first of its kind public/private partnership model in State government, to include policy development, coordination with government control agencies & attorneys, and cultivation of $500K in private sector commitments to roll out a veterans’ benefits portal.

 Oversight of all Department operations, to include: Information Technology, Finance, HR, Veteran Nursing Homes and Capital Assets divisions.

 Spearheaded rollout of $20M automated healthcare enrollment system and implemented the State’s initial mobile Smartphone application, resulting in savings of $500K.

Blackstone Technology Group 2006 to 2010 Managing Director, State and Local Government Practice Hired to grow Blackstone’s presence in Japan and recover a struggling multi-million dollar implementation project for a Financial Services client. Appointed to create Blackstone’s State and Local Government Practice in a new free-standing Tokyo office. Accountability for business development, client relationship management and delivery of multiple complex business and technology projects.
