What do you need know for the upcoming hiring season?

The Office of Talent Acquisition will launch the new teacher and leadership applications for the 2015-2016 hiring season on Monday, October 27, 2014. The candidates that you will see indicated their work availability for the current and/or 2015-2016 school year.

2015 – 2016 Pool Job Identification Numbers  The new teacher pool will use Job ID# 17325 (last year’s pool is Job ID #10240)  The new leadership pool will use Job ID# 17326 for Principals and Job ID# 17327 for AP/Dean positions (last year’s Job ID# 10238 for Principals and 10239 for AP/Dean positions)  You will have access to both the old and new pools until Monday, November 17, 2014. After this date you will no longer have access to Job ID#’s #10240, #10238 and #10239. No action is required regarding your current vacancy job postings.

Candidate status now viewable Recent enhancements have been included to make it easier to view teacher candidate information. These enhancements are only accessible through the “@TeacherSelection” and “@AP-Dean Selection” preset views. These new features include:

 Candidate pipeline status now viewable in column format  Color coding for all candidates in the pipeline to denote applicant status (pool approved vs. rejected) Please ensure that you select these views to take advantage of the enhancements. For additional information on how to select a preset view, you can review the online training materials via AppliTrack (a link to these materials is provided upon login to the system). We also encourage you to attend an upcoming AppliTrack training session to learn more about recent enhancements that will support your candidate search. AppliTrack training dates, locations and times are listed in this communication. You can also contact your HR Business Partner for assistance.

What is the completion time for the new user enhancements? 2015 – 2016 HISD AppliTrack Application Launch Frequently Asked Questions The Talent Acquisition team will launch a new AppliTrack user interface on Monday, November 17, 2014. The new user interface will also feature a new look to improve the information available to view and effectively select candidates and more information will be shared on how to get familiar with the new look and features in upcoming academic services announcements.

Why ask applicants to reapply? Launching a new job posting is essential to track only those candidates available to work in our district for the current and 2015 – 2016 school year, keeping pipeline data refreshed and current. There were also minor changes made to the application such as a new essay question and pertinent disclosures.

When do applicants begin reapplying and how did they know to reapply? As of Monday, October 27th candidates will begin applying to the new Job ID. All candidates in the pool were sent an email communication with a link to reapply.

What if I started the hiring process with a candidate (sent the new hire offer letter & contract)? You will still be able to search for the candidate by name using the search bar to send any other necessary communication. After you complete your hiring process, your HRBP/HRA will continue as usual with the staffing process.

Will I continue to have access to candidates in the old Job ID? No, the old Job IDs will no longer be available for viewing after Monday, November 17, 2014.

What is color coding? The additional column will have two distinct colors, red or green. Green will highlight the “POOL APPROVED” candidates which have been screened by the selection team and certification team for initial verification to teach in Texas. Red will highlight a candidates in the various “rejected” stages of the screening process.

When are the upcoming AppliTrack trainings for hiring managers? The Talent Acquisition team will offer AppliTrack training for hiring managers on the dates listed below. Where do I locate my presets? After selecting the Job ID of interest, at the left side of your screen select “Add/Remove Columns” and then move to the drop down list and select “@Teacher Selection” for teachers or “@AP-Dean Selection” for assistant principals or deans.

Do I need to change any folders I have set up? No, folders you have created will not be affected by any changes.

Why are there fewer candidates in the new job ID? We asked applicants to reapply, as a result you should expect to see a temporary decrease in available candidates. Throughout this process, Human Resources will communicate regularly to the existing candidate pipeline to ensure strong numbers reapply to the new job ID.
