NEWSLETTER GRADE VI,VII & VII J-II.

“Music is a piece of art that goes into the ears straight into the heart.”

As a part of field trip curriculum, Students of Grade III to Grade VIII Went on a field trip to Ishmeet Singh Music Academy, Ludhiana. Students were shown various musical instruments- Guitar, Tanpura, Sitar and importance of each instrument in the creation of music was also explained. Mentors of the academy also explained to the students the importance of classical music as an Indian Cultural Heritage. At the end students participated in learning dance from the professional dancers of the academy, which was the highlight of the event. It was an enriching experience Students of grade 8 participated in Sat Pal Mittal Model United Nations conference held from 6th may, 2016 to 8th may 2016.It was a great experience for the students. This conference ignited imagination, creativity and diplomacy within the students providing them with a platform to assume the role of ambassadors, diplomats and UN representatives to discuss the global problems confidently for a period of three days. Around two hundred and fifty delegates from all over the country took part in this stimulating conference. Inter-House Competitions are an important part of School life and are renowned for being the liveliest events in the school calendar. All the students of J2 participated in the competition from which sixteen got selected for Quarter final, four for semi-final and three for the final round. Final round of Inter House Carom Competition was held on May 25, 2016 which was the culmination of preliminary rounds, quarter final and semi-final. The competition was held between four houses- Aakash, Agni, Prithvi, Vayu. The final winners were Winner is Vayu House, First Runner Up is Aakash House and third position was bagged by Prithvi House.

Poetry recitation is literary work where ideas and feelings, accentuated with the use of distinctive style. It is an art break across grammar and syntax to create something new and imaginative for the children. It provides an adventure for the mind. Keeping in mind the creativity in mind, inter house poetry competition was held on May 26, 2016. Students of J2 participated, reciting poems of varied poets given to them. Students were given poets- Rabinderanath Tagore, William wordsworth etc. Students displayed immense confidence and enthusiasm while reciting poem. The winner of this competition was Vayu House, First runner up position was bagged by Agni, Second runner up was Aakash.

Self esteem comes from having real success in doing something you care about. It is an important activity that helps build self esteem but only if the martial art instructor acknowledge, recognize and reward the efforts of the martial arts student, as well as their accomplishments and success. So to develop that skill Punjab State Martial Art Competition was held on May 14, 2016 at Hemkunth senior secondary school, Moga. Around 400 students from different schools participated in this event. Our students also participate this event and brought laurels by winning medals competing their counterparts.

Students of grade 8 did the wall climbing activity. This activity helped in individual and team building skills of the students. Keeping eye on one’s teammate, acting as an advisor, providing motivation, offering encouragement and having confidence in another student.
