French II “Quand j’étais petit(e)…” Project

What is it?

You will tell your classmates a little bit about yourself as a child. Write 8-10 sentences about yourself and what you and your friends/family used to do when you were little/younger. Talk about how you spent Christmas and summer holidays, what your favorite games were, etc. You must include a brief story (preferably true) about one particular holiday or occasion. Include a minimum of two pictures/drawings of you when you were little/younger. You must present your project orally to the class.

When is it due?

Students must sign up on a first-come, first-served basis for their day to present, but all must be presented between Monday, 4/23/12 – Friday, 4/27/12. Any student absent on his/her presentation day must go first on the day he/she returns and must have an excuse for the absence. Late projects will lose 25 per day. Early projects can receive up to 15 points of extra-credit. No projects will be accepted after Friday, 4/27/12.

What form(s) can it take?

Power Point (preferred), poster board, printer paper, other if pre-approved; all formats must be typed

How much is it worth?

Two test grades.

How will I be graded?

See the grading rubric on the other side of this sheet. DO NOT turn it in on the day of the presentation. I will use a fresh sheet to grade you. Grading Rubric: Written portion: 100 points Complete ______/20 At least two pictures (one alone, one group) ______/10 Appearance (neat, organized, etc.) ______/10 Easy to read ______/ 10 Story ______/10 Correct grammar (conjugation, verb tense, etc.) ______/30 Spelling ______/10

Presentation: 60 points Pronunciation ______/35 Used notes (so your head stays up) ______/10 Spoke clearly/fluently (no mumbling, limited repetition) ______/15

Rough draft: 40 points Turned in on time (no partial credit) ______/ 10 Complete ______/ 15 Shows effort ______/ 15 Total: ______/200
