AFCEA Tucson Armed Forces Leadership in Technology Award

The Tucson, Arizona chapter of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) will sponsor the Armed Services Leadership in Technology Award for three deserving University of Arizona Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) students. One recipient from each Service Department’s ROTC detachment is eligible for a $500 cash scholarship to be awarded for use during the Spring 2015 academic semester. ROTC detachment cadre/leadership can each nominate one individual from their respective detachment provided that individual meets the following criteria:

Mandatory Qualifications for Award:

- Full-time undergraduate freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior level student.

- Active member of an Armed Services Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) program. The student is not required to be on ROTC scholarship but must attend ROTC classes, labs, and activities at the level associated with his or her class.

- Pursuing college degree in an area that is directly related to the communications and electronics career field. Examples include Mathematics, Computer Science, Telecommunications, Physics, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.

Desired Qualifications for Award Recipient (use to determine most deserving candidate):

- Demonstrated leadership and involvement in clubs, activities, or community events associated with their degree field.

- Strong Grade Point Average in comparison to peers pursuing similar degree programs.

- Outstanding military qualities. Student should excel among peers within their ROTC program.

Nomination Procedure:

ROTC Cadre should submit a nomination form (attached) in PDF format for their nominee outlining how their nominee displays the qualities for which the AFCEA Armed Services Leadership in Technology award is designed.
