A Printer (Preferably a Color Printer). Plan Accordingly

Book Portfolio

**For this book project you will need a computer with internet access and a printer (preferably a color printer). Plan accordingly!!**

1. Using the internet or a scanner, find/scan a color copy of the cover of your book. (You can usually find these on amazon.com or Barnes and Noble’s website, bn.com). Print a color copy of the cover on white paper. If you don’t have access to a color copier, you can print out a black and white copy and then use crayons, markers, or colored pencils to color it in and make it look like the cover of your book.

2. Write a short summary of the book- 3-4 paragraphs minimum.

3. Type up a Cast of Characters List for the book. List at least 8 characters’ names and write a brief description for each of them. (unless your book doesn’t have that many characters) [Example: Bella Swan—a lonely teenage girl who goes to live with her father.] Make sure to title the list “Cast of Characters” at the top, and then print it out. *If you read a collection of poems or short stories, then you can include characters from more than one selection to come up with a complete list of ten.*

4. Find at least four small pictures online (color is preferred, if you don’t have a color printer, you can color in the black and white ones that you find) that would help to show what your book was about. Print them out. They need to be able to fit about four to a normal sized sheet of computer paper (8 ½” x 11”) page. Type up a small caption that explains each one, and print them out as well.

5. Trim your pages and pictures, and paste them as follows on the file folder you can get from me:

 Front cover of the folder = cover of your book  Inside front cover = Cast of Characters List  Inside back cover = Four pictures with their captions pasted beneath them  Back cover = book summary

6. Print your name and class period in the bottom right hand corner of the BACK cover.
