AN ACT relating to sponsorship of bills. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky: SECTION 1. A NEW SECTION OF KRS CHAPTER 6 IS CREATED TO READ AS FOLLOWS: If a bill passes the Senate or the House of Representatives, and a substantially similar bill is pending in the other chamber, the primary sponsors of each of the bills may jointly petition the Committee on Committees in each chamber to authorize co- sponsorship by members of both chambers. With the written approval of both the Committee on Committees in the Senate and the Committee on Committees in the House of Representatives, members from both chambers may be listed as sponsors of the bill which first passed its chamber of origin as follows: (1) The primary Senate sponsor shall be listed as first sponsor of the bill if it is a Senate bill and the primary House sponsor shall be listed as the first sponsor of the bill if it is a House bill. The primary sponsor from the other chamber shall be listed immediately after the first sponsor on the bill; and (2) Co-sponsors from both chambers may be listed after the two (2) primary sponsors, with Senate co-sponsors listed first on Senate bills, and House of Representatives co-sponsors listed first on House bills. Co-sponsors from the other chamber shall be listed immediately after the co-sponsors in the chamber of

origin.
