Outreach Ask local partners and groups to also post these messages to promote the enforcement:  College student organizations.  College administration/athletic teams.  Local chamber of commerce/mayor.  Popular community venues (bars/concert venues, etc.).

Posts  Extra DWI enforcement is coming to a road near you — drive sober or get pulled over! Remind your friends to plan ahead for a safe and sober ride home this holiday season.

 Stepped-up statewide – and nationwide – DWI enforcement starts this weekend and runs every weekend through December 27. Avoid the serious consequences of getting arrested: loss of license for up to a year or more, thousands in costs and maybe jail time.

 Did you know: If you blow twice the legal limit on a first DWI — and you want to drive — you’ll need to blow into an ignition interlock in your car for at least one year. All repeat offenders will need interlock for two or more years. Those with three or more offenses need to use interlock for 3-6 years or they will never regain driving privileges. Learn more at MinnesotaIgnitionInterlock.org.

 Extra DWI enforcement is on the roads in [YOUR CITY/AREA] – and you can help to take drunk and impaired drivers off the road by calling 911 to report them. Be prepared to provide location, license plate and observed dangerous behavior.

 If you know friends are partying this weekend, offer up to be a designated driver, or be available to offer a sober ride home whenever they need it. Remind them – drive sober or get pulled over!

 If you are a server, do not be afraid to cut off a customer or call them a cab.

 In the last three years (2011–2013), there were 279 drunk driving-related traffic deaths in Minnesota and 81 people were killed in 2013 alone.

 Include posts about DWI arrest updates; consider “live-tweeting” DWI arrests as they happen.

 Santa doesn’t make jailhouse visits. Stay out of the slammer this holiday season. Don’t drink and drive. #MNDWIs

 Prefer spiked egg nog to the regular stuff? Call a cab or have a sober ride lined up if you’re out celebrating. Xtra DWI enforcement thru Dec. 31. #MNDWIs

 No need to dream of a white Christmas but we are dreaming of zero DWIs. Have a sober ride if you’re celebrating w/family & friends. #MNDWIs

 Can’t afford 5 golden rings for your true love? Then why would you drink and drive? A DWI can cost more than $10,000. Line up a sober ride. #MNDWIs

 Giving your true love 5 golden rings is spendy — and so is a DWI. If you’re celebrating this holiday season, have a sober ride. #MNDWIs

 A DWI can cost you more than $10,000. You’re better off buying the 10 lords-a-leaping. Cost: $5,200. Drive sober this holiday season. #MNDWIs
