JOB DESCRIPTION
Job title: Director of Fundraising & PR
Reports to: Artistic Director, Trustee Board
Liaises with: Projects Manager, Finance Manager
Hours of work: 35 per week
Salary: £30-35,000
Holiday: 25 days
Purpose: To maintain and develop funding from a variety of sources, establish a strategy to deliver the Trust’s aims, and to communicate the work of the Trust
Key Responsibility Areas
Fundraising Financial planning Managing and setting budgets Reporting to funders Ongoing development of monitoring and evaluation Business planning & strategic development Main point of contact with treasurer Liaison with Finance Manager Finalising accounts and preparing copy for the Trust’s Annual Report Writing articles for a range of publications and producing press releases when necessary Maintaining the Trust’s website. Producing regular newsletters for supporters
Essential Personal Attributes A self-starter and able to work both independently and as part of a small team Flexibility and open-mindedness An understanding of the issues facing the sector Commitment to social justice Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate at different levels Excellent writing skills Close attention to detail Ability to work calmly under pressure and to strict deadlines Strong IT skills
About The Irene Taylor Trust ‘Music in Prisons’ “To promote the use of music to inspire and engage offenders in achieving their potential as positive and valued members of the community" Music in Prisons office is based in Brixton, where a small team plan, administrate and fundraise for projects. Musicians are employed on a freelance basis to deliver the projects throughout the prison estate in the UK.
