Media Proposal Letter

Publication in the media is a great way to market your practice. Either writing an article or having an article written about you is far more valuable than paying for advertising in the same newspaper or magazine. Below are two sample proposal letters. The first is a proposal for your local newspaper to do an article about you. The second is a proposal for giving you a weekly column in your local newspaper.

Health & Lifestyles Editor Pioneer Valley Times Call 56 Cuchamonga Ave. Amherst, MA 08775

Dear Ms. ______,

Due to the recent revelations that estrogen replacement therapy (ERT) may not be as safe as we once thought for postmenopausal women, I would like to suggest the Pioneer Valley Times Call doing an article on Chinese medicine and osteoporosis. Chinese medicine is the oldest continually practice, literate, secular, professional medicine in the world today, and one quarter of the world’s population make use of it in one form or another.

Within Chinese medicine, gynecology is one of the oldest and most effective specialties. For thousands of years, Asian women have been keeping their bones healthy and strong postmenopausally by using a variety of Chinese herbs. However, this is not just superstition or a traditional belief. Modern clinical trials and laboratory research have proven Chinese herbs ability to promote the growth of new bone cells and slow down the destruction of old bone cells.

Enclosed please find a folder containing information on my clinic, my training, and my practice of traditional Chinese gynecology. Also included are copies of research proving that Chinese herbs can increase bone strength and prevent and treat osteoporosis in postmenopausal women without side effect, either short- or long-term.

I will give you a call next week after you have had a chance to review the enclosed materials. I hope that you will seriously consider running an article on Chinese herbs and osteoporosis. I believe many of your female readers would appreciate learning more about this safe and effective alternative.

Yours,

Dottie P. Acupuncturist, Lic. Ac.
