ABOUT THE INSPIRE AWARD SCHEME FOR TEACHERS AND HEAD MASTERS 1)What is INSPIRE?
A Scheme / programme implemented by the Ministry of Science & Technology, Department of Science & Technology, Government of India for attraction of talent amongst the students to study Science and pursue career with research.
2)What is the purpose / aim / objective of INSPIRE?
To attract the young talent amongst students to study science and pursue career with research
3)Which age group is covered under the INPSIRE Programme / Scheme?
10 – 32 years.

7)What is the INSPIRE Award Scheme / Component?
Under the INSPIRE Award Scheme, during a plan period of 5 years, two children are selected from each school of the country having classes 6 to 10 for an INSPIRE Award of Rs. 5000/- each for preparing the science project / modal. These awardees, who are students from class 6 to 10, then participate in a 3-tier competitions ; District, State and National level.
8)Children / Students in which classes are eligible for INPSIRE Awards?
Classes 6 to 10.
9)Are the private schools also eligible to participate in Scheme?
Yes.
10)Whether the schools run by the State Government or Central Government or Local Bodies eligible to participate in the Scheme?
Yes, all schools in the country. Whether Government or private / Aided or unaided / run by Central Government or State Government / local bodies like panchayats, municipalities, etc. are eligible to participate in the scheme.
11)How many States / UTs are participate in the Scheme?
All the 28 States and 7 Union Territories are participating in the Scheme
12)Who selects / nominates the children for the INSPIRE Award of Rs. 5000/-? Headmasters / Headmistresses / Principals of the schools nominate / select the children for the INSPIRE Award of Rs. 5000/-.
13)How is the selection of child is made by the Headmaster / Headmistress?
Merit based selection is done by the school for the children having aptitude for science.
14)Under the INSPIRE Award Scheme, how is award money is to be utilized by Awardees?
For preparing the science project and to bring it for the district level competition
