TEKS for Course Student objectives are listed in the calendar/outline section of this document by six weeks. Grading Determination Major Grades: 60% Daily Grades: 30% Homework: 10% There will be at least three Major grades and six minor grades each six weeks. Late Work Procedure

Late homework grades will be reduced by 25% up to the day of the unit test.

Weekly TAKS review worksheet A TAKS review worksheet will be given at the beginning of the each week and due at the end of the week graded for accuracy for a daily grade. Late worksheets will be accepted up to three days with a penalty of 10 points off per day. Any grade below 70 may make corrections on missed problems to earn some points back not to exceed 70.

Retesting Procedure

Tests 1. All retesting will be offered for any test grade below 70 by arrangement with your teacher. 2. The following criteria must be completed and is due before taking the retest: ◦ Test corrections on a separate sheet of paper with problem #, all work shown, corrected answer, and the reason why you missed it for each problem missed and stapled to the test. 3. The grade on the retest and the original test grade will be averaged and will count as the new test grade for that unit not to exceed a 70 as long as it is higher. 4. Retesting will NOT be allowed on any Benchmark, Semester, or Final Exam. 5. Extenuating circumstances will be considered by the individual teacher. Quiz corrections 1. You may earn more points back on a quiz grade if corrections are done and turned back in. 2. The grade on the quiz and the test grade earned on that unit test will be averaged and will count as the new quiz grade (provided it’s a higher grade).

Student Absence Procedure Students are allowed the same number of days that they were absent to make-up homework.

If a test is missed, the student should make it up as soon as possible to maximize performance. Make up times MUST be discussed with the teacher. Test Days

Standard test day are Tuesdays and Fridays. Tests are allowed on other days with principal approval. Homework Guidelines 1. Homework will be completed on paper unless a worksheet is assigned. 2. Student name, date and assignment title must be visible near the top of the paper. 3. Homework should be completed in pencil and the correct answers will be reviewed in class the day the assignment is due. Materials Certain materials will be needed DAILY: paper, pencil, red checking pen, calculator – class set, book – class set
