HARMAN AND THE STAFF OF THE 13 LEXINGTON COUNTY CORONER’S OFFICE FOR THE 14 OUTSTANDING WORK THEY DO ON BEHALF OF 15 LEXINGTON COUNTY, AND TO CONGRATULATE THEM 16 FOR SUCCESSFUL ACCREDITATION BY THE 17 INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF CORONERS AND 18 MEDICAL EXAMINERS. 19 20 Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate are pleased to 21 learn that the Lexington County Coroner’s Office has received 22 accreditation from the International Association of Coroners and 23 Medical Examiners; and 24 25 Whereas, committed to advancing the accurate and compassionate 26 determination of the cause and manner of death through the use of 27 science, medicine, and the law, the International Association of 28 Coroners and Medical Examiners (IAC&ME) conducted a 29 thorough audit of the Lexington County Coroner’s processes; and 30 31 Whereas, based on the IAC&ME audit team’s review of standards 32 in the areas of administration, forensics, investigation, and 33 facilities, the auditors will be recommending full accreditation of 34 the Lexington County Coroner’s Office at the 2012 summer 35 training conference to be held the week of June 25, 2012; and 36 37 Whereas, the IAC&ME recognizes hardworking facilities that are 38 compliant with international standards and will present the 39 Lexington County accreditation certificate at the IAC&ME 40 business meeting in Las Vegas, Nevada; and 41

[1509] 2 1 Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate are grateful 2 for the compassion and dedication to excellence continually 3 exhibited by the Lexington County Coroner’s Office under the 4 able, steadfast leadership of Coroner Harry Harman. Now 5 therefore, 6 7 Be it resolved by the Senate: 8 9 That the members of the Senate of the State of South Carolina, by 10 this resolution, recognize and honor Lexington County Coroner 11 Harry O. Harman and the staff of the Lexington County Coroner’s 12 Office for the outstanding work they do on behalf of Lexington 13 County, and congratulate them for successful completion of 14 accreditation through the International Association of Coroners 15 and Medical Examiners. 16 17 Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to 18 Coroner Harry O.
