Course Description: This course will explore the grammar and the vocabulary that students need to know in order to meet high curriculum standards and succeed, using the Spanish language. We will get in deep into the grammar and the Conjugation of the Spanish language. We will also improve the reading and conversational skills trough a variety of methods.
Course Goals: This course will: Improve the writing of the students trough the usage of conjugation charts Prepare students to speak, read and write using the present tense Prepare students to speak, read and write using the present progressive tense Prepare students to speak. Read and write using the past tense. Prepare students to speak, read and write using the past progressive tense Prepare students to speak, read and write using the future tense
BEHAVIOR EXPECTATIONS
1. BE ON TIME TO CLASS. BE IN YOUR ASSIGNED SEAT WHEN THE BELL RINGS. 2. BRING YOUR NOTEBOOK, SPANISH FOLDER AND YOUR TEXT BOOK TO EVERY CLASS. 3. ASK FOR PERMISSION IF YOU HAVE TO LEAVE YOUR SEAT. 4. YOU SHOULD ASK QUESTIONS TO THE TEACHER, NOT TO YOUR PEERS. 5. FOLLOW ALL THE DIRECTIONS GIVEN AT THE START OF THE CLASS. ALSO READ AND WRITE THE “DO NOW”. 6. USE YOUR JUDGMENT IN EVERY ACTION IN THE CLASSROOM. BEHAVIOR RULES: 1. First offense: The Jennings student’s handbook will be reviewed and the student will receive a warning. 2. Second offense: Student will have a detention and parents will be called 3. Third offense: A referral will be issued.
Note: As the teacher, I reserve the right to skip/combine steps depending on the severity of the offense. Extreme cases will result in immediate referral to the Principal.
GRADING POLICY Semester grade will be calculated as following: 60% Performance evaluation (Test/quizzes/Project) 30% Classwork 10% Homework.
20% Final Exam
Grading scale: Jennings High School grading scale (Published in the Students Handbook)

HOMEWORK There will be light homework assigned at the end of the day, as the heavy work will be during the class hours.
Make-up work 1. If you have an unexcused absent you got zero for the class assignment(s) you have missed. It is your responsibility to call a classmate and get the homework or Notes from the class. 2. If your absent is excused you are allowed to make-up work: It is your responsibility to check for any missing assignments You will be given the time equal to the length of your excused absent. All work not made-up within the allotted school policy time frame will result in a zero.
TUTORING There will be tutoring every Monday and Wednesday from 2:55 pm to 3:20 pm.
