Keys to Success

Keys to Success:

1. Be the change you wish to see in your organization/unit/team. Whenever you are frustrated, always begin with yourself as the leader. As a leader, very often, our habits or routines are preventing our organization from going to the next level.  We attract who we are, not who we want! Are you the person you want on your team? If not, why not? Fix it to move to the next level.  We can’t control what others do, but we can control what we do. As a leader, your character development is also highly correlated to your success and the growth of your organization. Increased personal growth=Increased Success. If you are unwilling to grow personally as a leader, you are also putting a limit on the growth of your organization. Be willing to change what is not working! Be willing to grow. Growth isn’t always comfortable, but it is always essential to success. 2. Why Build a Team? Together Everyone Achieves More! Open the Applause Magazine & observe! Those lovely LARGE commission checks you see come from STEADILY and CONSISTENTLY building a TEAM! You cannot do that on your own!  The BIGGER your vision for your organization, the MORE people you will need to help you accomplish your mission.  Dinky vision = Dinky Team, but a MASSIVE VISION calls for a MASSIVE TEAM!  What does the vision for your business look like? Do you see yourself driving a FREE CAR? Achieving Queens Court of Sales or Recruiting?  Get out a tracking sheet and do it! Mary Kay said, “Stop Planning & Just Do It”… We can think all day, but we need to ask ourselves right now… “Is what I’m doing right now moving me in the direction of my goal?” If not, then change it.

3. NO MORE EXCUSES!  Write your list 1-10. Who will help you build the ground floor of your Million Dollar Organization?  1-10, don’t overanalyze or prejudge. Just do it! Write your list and then call each one and let her know that you have decided to take your mk business to the next level, and part of moving up means that you have to observe your director share the career information with 10, 15, 20, or 30 women this month.  Script: “This may or may not be for you, but I could really use your help with my training. I am offering everyone who helps me out a FREE LIPGLOSS or lipstick! Which one would you prefer? Ok Great! Is weekday or weekend better for you? Perfect! Morning or Afternoon? Ok, so let’s plan on Friday at noon. I appreciate you SO MUCH! If you like, you can go online to my website and pick out your favorite color so I can bring it with me when we meet for coffee! What’s your email? Great! I’m sending you the link now  o This is GREAT because the link you send her takes her directly to your website, where she will then register—and if she doesn’t become a team member you can enroll her in PCP and turn her into a customer. o She also has the opportunity to look around at all of our GREAT products and the career information BEFORE you ever sit down for the interview! By sending her to your website, you are layering her—which is what some need before they will sign! 4. IF YOU HAD ALL THE MONEY IN THE WORLD & THE MORE YOU GAVE AWAY, THE MORE YOU WOULD GET IN RETURN, HOW MUCH WOULD YOU GIVE AWAY? o Treat your business like this! o Treat it like a beautifully wrapped gift that you are just dying to give away! o Each and every day you wake up, you have the ability to change lives with the incredible mk opportunity. Why are you holding onto such a wonderful gift? It is selfish not to share. o Ask yourself each day when you wake up, Who am I going to bless today? Who am I going to give this gift to?

5. Enthusiastically Believe in our unparalleled business opportunity! Just like you can’t sell products you don’t believe in, you must first sell yourself on this business before you can try to sell others.  EnthusIASM- the last 4 letters stands for I AM SOLD MYSELF; When you whole-heartedly believe in this amazing company and career opportunity, you can’t wait to share it! So Get Sold!

6. Practice, Practice, Practice!  The more you practice, the more confident you will become. o Think about how many times a football team practices before their games. When they win the “BIG GAME”, it was because of all those hours and days and months of preparation they put in! o UFC Fighters train 8+ hours a day for months before their fights. By doing so, they are physically conditioned and ready for the BIG FIGHT! They perfect and hone their skill only through practice and repetition. o If they practiced only once in a while, they would DRAMATICALLY DECREASE their rate of success. o ARE YOU INCREASING OR DECREASING YOUR RATE OF SUCCESS WITH YOUR PRACTICE?  We have to be okay with feeling uncomfortable the first few times.  The more we practice, the more comfortable we will become.  Confidence comes from continued practice & repetition.

7. Know your “why”  When the going gets tough, because sometimes it will, remember “why” you’re working your business. Keep your “why” in front of you!  When you feel like giving up, because sometimes you will, remember “why” you held on so long in the first place.  People usually give up when they are right on the cusp of success. Don’t let that be you!  When you come to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on!  Go through the no’s to get to the yes’s. SWSWSWSW= Some will, Some won’t, So What, Someone’s Waiting! Go back to your “why” and move on!

8. Get to the root of what’s holding you back & Conquer it!  We are all blessed with unique abilities that enable us to make a difference in women’s lives. Figure out what’s holding you back and decide to face it head on!  WHAT YOU RESIST WILL PERSIST, -#1 Director Julie Weaver  The thing we fear is the very thing we need to do MOST! It’s the one thing that is holding us back.  Conquering our fear brings us confidence. o In psychology it’s called systematic desensitization- exposing ourselves to what we are afraid of a little at a time until the fear is completely conquered. o (Ex) Afraid of warm chatting? Start by smiling, then move to speaking, just saying hi, then giving a business card, and finally working your way up to asking for her name and number.  There are 2 seeds: Both grow when fed o The seed of Faith vs. The Seed of Fear o Which one are you feeding? The seed of Faith or the Seed of Fear? o When you run from your fear it grows larger, but when you face your fears, they shrink and disappear!

9. Make a commitment!  Achievement is a decision you make or fail to make  In the absence of a commitment, you automatically default to mediocre  No one becomes successful accidentally  Success requires a definite decision and a lifelong commitment.  Discover your “why” for working your business and let that push you to conquer your fear or whatever else is holding you back, and then decide to give it all you’ve got, not HALF your best, but YOUR BEST!  DON’T SETTLE FOR MEDIOCRE WHEN EXCELLENCE IS AN OPTION!

10. Never Let Up!  Building your organization is kind of like physical fitness.  If you want to achieve BIG results, you must continue to work at it and DON’T LET UP!  When you let up in the fitness world, what happens? You get flabby! Same thing with your business. Don’t let up!  Be consistent and always be learning… always be growing  Remember, success= personal growth  Also realize that you must continue to consistently grow your team.  The size of your organization is in direct proportion to the size of your love checks!  Grow your team, grow your checks! Very happy correlation!

Final Thought:  Always remember everyone who is at the top was once at the bottom.  You can be anything you want, anytime you want; you are just a decision away!  According to the experts, mastery in ANY FIELD takes 7 years!  It takes 7 years to get to the top of anything… the time is going to pass anyway.  So get started, stay consistent, stay passionate, dedicated, and NEVER EVER QUIT!  You will fall sometimes, but it’s ok! Pick yourself up and keep going!  You were born for GREATNESS!
