PURPOSE of this MEET: To Provide an opportunity to practice racing before Y Regionals. Another opportunity for swimmers another chance to qualify for Y regionals held in Oregon Mar 3-5, 2017. This meet also counts towards you Y state quota for 2018.

Directions from the South: Take Hwy 16 towards Port Orchard/Bremerton. After Hwy 16 becomes Hwy 3 North, merge onto Hwy 304 North at Exit 34 towards Bremerton. Turn right onto Burwell Street, left onto Washington Avenue, and then take the second right onto Manette Bridge. At the next roundabout, take the second exit onto Wheaton Way. Take the first right onto Homer Jones Drive then turn left onto Magnuson Way. The parking lot will be on your right. Additional parking is available next to the skate park below the pool.

Directions from the North: From Bucklin Hill, take Hwy 303 South. Turn right onto Hwy 303/Wagga Way, left onto Sheridan Road, right onto Wheaton Way, and left onto Magnuson Way. The Bremerton YMCA will be on your right. Additional parking is available next to the skate park below the pool.

Spectator Information: 200 spectator seats in the pool bleachers plus some deck space for personal chairs. The seating area across from the bleachers is reserved for coaches.If you are not a YMCA member, you will need to fill out a guest waiver form and show ID at the Service Desk. You are always welcome to help time!

Facility: Six-lane 25 yard competition pool. Starting end 12’ deep; bulkhead turning end 4’ deep. Warm-up area in shallow end of pool on the other side of the bulkhead. Semi-automatic timing system: two (2) watches per lane with buttons. Safety Reminders: For everyone’s safety, please respect the lifeguards and comply with their requests. 1. Use of audio or visual recording devices, including a cell phone, is not permitted in changing areas, rest rooms or behind the starting blocks. 2. Except where venue facilities require otherwise, changing in or out of swimsuits other than in locker rooms or other designated areas is prohibited. 3. Glass containers are not allowed anywhere in the pool area, including locker rooms. 4. Warm-up procedures: Feet first entry only. Circle swim in assigned lanes, except in designated starting lanes. Additional warm-up information will be emailed to participating teams prior to the meet and announced at the Coaches’ Meeting.

Eligibility and Entry Information: Each swimmer must be a member of the YMCA. Age groups are based on the age of the swimmer as of the date of the meet. Age groups for competition will be 8&U, 10&U, 11-12, 13-14, and 15-21. There are qualifying times for the following events: all 200 swims, 100 IM’s and 400 IM (about 15 sec off regional time standards for their age groups). No time standards for all other events. . Each swimmer may enter up to three (3) individual events and two (2) relays.

Please review your entries carefully before submitting them, no deck entries or event- swapping will be allowed. Meet entries must be emailed to the Meet Director no later than February 7, 2017.

Awards: Individual event ribbons 1st – 6th; relay event ribbons 1st-3rd. All individual and relay events will be awarded by age group and gender.

Meet Rules: 1. Unless otherwise noted in the Order of Events, all individual events will be pre- seeded, timed finals, seeded and swum slow-to-fast, combined girls and boys. There is no age minimum for Open events. Coaches are advised not to enter swimmers in back-to-back events. 2. Unless otherwise noted in the Order of Events, all relay teams must be single- gender. All relay events will be seeded and swum combined girls’ and boys’ relay teams. The second and fourth swimmer of each 8&U 100-yard relay team must start in the water as the bulkhead end of the pool is too shallow for racing starts. 3. Current YMCA and USA Swimming technical rules govern throughout the meet. 4. All participating swimmers must be under the control of a YMCA coach and may not enter the water at any time unless under said supervision. Coaches are responsible for their team’s swimmers throughout the meet, including warm-ups and cool-downs. 5. Any swimmer entered in the meet must be certified by their YMCA coach as being proficient in performing a racing start or must start each race from within the water.
