What comes next? Designing the SDG’s

Your Goal:

Investigate the current criteria that the UN set for the Millennium goals. Identify which targets are in reach and which are not. From that point, create a new set of goals and criteria for achieving them for the next 15 years to improve the standards of living around the world.

The Process:

1) Class #1 - Create your own goals and targets for the new SDG’s. Enter them onto a Google doc in the form of a table where in three columns you have: a. Identified a specific goal b. Described that goal and what the change it should make c. Set targets for the UN to reach by the year 2040 2) Class #2 - Pick one developing country that you have already investigated and describe how your “Goals” will impact that country in the next 25 years. Be specific. 3) Class #3 - Identify the current MDG’s and the targets they have achieved so far and where they have fallen short. 4) Class #4 - Describe, using your developing country example, why your new SDG’s will be an improvement on the work already done by the UN.
