Download Answer Keys

Posted here are: • the keys to all Mixed Exercises and Express in German exercises in the Main Text

• the keys to all exercises in the Student Manual that have single, predictable responses.

Our reason for posting these keys is straightforward: we believe that using German in Review in any course requires a certain amount of out-of-class preparation time. To make such self-study effective, you should be able to quickly confirm that you are performing the correctly and that what you are learning is right. (Practicing something incorrectly and waiting until you are in class to find this out is totally counter-productive.)

The keys are there to assure you that you are in full control of the material at all times. To this end, we have formatted them with the following points in mind: •The keys can be downloaded and read by any computer using any recent version of Windows or Macintosh software. If you have access to the internet in your room, simply download the keys onto your hard drive.

•If you don’t have net access in your room, download the files at your computer center (or in a friend's room) and copy them onto a disk. All of the keys to both the main text and the Student Manual will fit onto one disk. No plug-ins or extra software are needed to run them.

•You now "own" the keys and the portability of a disk copy will let you use them anywhere you have access to a computer.

•The answer keys are in separate files for each chapter and each level of both the Main Text and the Student Manual, which allows you to scroll quickly to the section you want to use.

•Wherever possible, both the exercises from the book and their solutions have been included in the keys .This saves you from having to look back and forth between the book and the computer screen.

•If you choose to use the keys away from your computer, you are welcome to make hard copies of them. In other words, your keys will be accessible, easy to use, and completely portable.

Downloadable Files •The keys are in two downloadable folders: Student Text Keys and Student Manual Keys. You should be able to download both folders in a matter of minutes.

•Once you have downloaded the keys and wish to use them on your computer, you should be able to double-click on the file icon to open each file.

To print this Web page: If you wish to print a copy this Web page to help you with the downloading process, make sure that your printer is set up to print the full screen.

•Newer Macs will print the full page in the vertical setting. For older Macs, go to "Page setup" (under "File") and click on the icon that lets you print the page horizontally.
