The Fourth Grade Team

September 8, 2014 Dear Parents,

Lake Orienta Elementary’s Annual 4th Grade trip to St. Augustine will be on Friday, Feb. 20th, 2015 from 7:30am-5:30pm. It will be a time for children to step back into history and have some exciting hands-on experiences. Our trip includes a tour through the Castillo de San Marco, Colonial Quarter and the Military Hospital. We will also take a tram ride to see the historical sites of St. Augustine. In addition, we will walk and shop on the famous St. George Street. Because of the location of the field trip and the cost of the tours, the price of the field trip is $50.00 per student. A few parent chaperones are welcome from each class. The chaperone fee is $65.00. Chaperones must be registered Dividends at the time of submitting the field trip form. Your child’s teacher will contact you and request full payment upon checking SCPS Dividend approval. We realize in these tough economic times that the cost of this field trip will be a hardship for many families. At this time, we are requesting a $20.00 installment to begin covering the cost of the field trip. We will be requesting a second payment (due 12/9/14) and finally a third payment (due 2/4/15) prior to the field trip. If you wish to pay more, please send the cash with your child. Online payments are through Pay Schools again this year. The instructions to pay online can be found on the Lake Orienta website: press on the Parent tab, and follow the links to Pay Schools. Your child will be given a receipt for all money paid, and the fourth grade teachers will be tracking this as well. If you pay online, a receipt will be sent to the email address provided. If you wish for your child to attend the field trip, please send the signed permission slip and the first installment of $20.00 to school no later than October 17, 2014.
