ANNOUNCEMENTS WILL BEGIN IN 30 SECONDS!

TODAY'S MEETINGS/EVENTS/DEADLINES

Attention all first term dual enrollment students: The LFCC Dual Enrollment Request Form is due in the Guidance Office on or before September 1, 2016. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Toothman in the Guidance. Also, during advisory on Wednesday, August 31st, payments and forms will be collected in the Falcon Room. Please report to the Falcon Room (during advisory) to submit the dual enrollment request form along with payment. Students must report to advisory for attendance prior to reporting to the Falcon Room.

Attention Freshmen: If you want to make the most of your high school experience, you should get involved!! One way to get involved is to join the SCA. Becoming an officer or a member of the executive council creates opportunities to meet people, help with projects in and outside of school, to participate in Spirit Week, Homecoming, fundraisers, and many other school activities! Get your forms today from Mrs. Chipman in room 609 or Ms. Story in room 562. Officer elections are next Wednesday, so don’t delay!!

Do you like to sing or Dance or Act…or any combination of the above. Then-Why not- Audition for this year’s “Fall Theatre Production”? Auditions will be tomorrow and Wednesday in the Theater classroom after school from 3 until 5:30 pm. Our Fall Productions will be a Broadway Music and Dance review along with our Virginia High School League Competition Piece. So unclog those vocal cords and slip on some comfortable shoes for dance and attend the auditions . If you have any questions, please see Mr. Bales in room 525.

HOSA- Future Health Professionals will hold its first meeting today during Advisory in Annex room 835. Students interested in a career in health care are welcome. Fall plans & professional development opportunities will be presented. See Ms Blevins or a HOSA officer for an Advisory pass.

Seniors: If you are working toward an advanced diploma with a “B: Average and will graduate with 15 hours of college credit please come to guidance and fill out the early college scholars agreement. See your counselor if questions.

National Honor Society members will meet today at 2:45 in the old cafeteria.

Attention Students: Because many students may be having a hard time seeing their counselor or may have questions, Guidance Counselors will be available in the lunch room next week Tuesday through Friday, during all 3 lunch shifts.

If you are interesting in signing up for stage crew for our fall productions “A Little of Broadway” and “Zombie Prom”. A sign-up sheet is available on the door of Mr. Bale’s room for the next week.

MEETINGS/EVENTS/DEADLINES The Robotics Club will be an ideal experience to any student new to robotics, interested in technology and STEM concepts, or even an experienced hobbyist. Students will learn team-building skills in an ever-learning environment and compete on a world-scale platform, VEX Robotics. An interest meeting will be held at Mr. Newman's room in the annex, room 814, and run from 2:30 to 3:30 where basics will be covered, Thursday, September 1st.

Need community hours, love to recycle, or just want to give back to the earth? Then join Volunteer Fauquier! The club will have its first meeting this Thursday right after school in the library. New members are always welcome! The first SAT test of the year is Saturday, October 1. Registration deadline is Thursday, September 1. You can ask guidance for a fee waiver if you receive free or reduced lunch. If you are applying to college early you should take this test.

ART CLUB WILL MEET THURSDAY AFTER SCHOOL IN ROOM 564.

Join HOSA at Chick-fil-a September 1st this Thursday from 6am to 9pm. Mention Fauquier HOSA and the proceeds will go to Operation Smile. Thank you for helping us reach our goal.

There will be an FCCLA meeting Thursday from 2:40 until 4:00 in Mrs. Hale’s room 832 in the Annex. Officers will be nominated and planning for the State Fair being held on September 26, will begin. If you plan to run for an office, please bring a completed officer application. Please stop by and see Mrs. Hale if you would like to be a part of FCCLA and are unable to attend the meeting.

Attention Underclassmen: Victor O’Neill Studios will be here on Sept. 6th, 7th, and 8th to for Yearbook photos for 9th, 10th and 11th grades.

ATHLETIC EVENTS/AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES/MEETINGS

THERE WILL BE A BOYS LACROSSE MEETING WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 31st DIRECTLY AFTER SCHOOL IN GYM LOBBY FOR ANYONE INTERESTED IN JV AND VARSITY BOYS LACROSSE.

Any athlete who is not currently playing a fall sport and is interested in wrestling this winter season is encouraged to come to preseason workouts Tuesday and Thursdays at 4:30 in the wrestling room. Girls soccer is having a preseason meeting in the old cafeteria on Tuesday, September 6 at 2:45. Anyone considering trying out in the spring is highly encouraged to attend.
