FEMA Online/Independent Study Courses – free courses available to the public with a searchable catalogue. Courses range from being interactive to “independent study” where students review materials independently and take a test. Citizen Corps & Community Emergency Response Teams (CERTs) – nationwide network of local, in-depth training programs providing 18+ hours of in-person instruction to citizens to become certified in order to assist first responders and local communities in times of disaster. http://www.citizencorps.gov/cert/
