MINUTES OF THE XV TH EMERGENCY MEETING OF EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE OF KV-II AOA HELD ON 21-06-2008 AT CC-I

Sh. N. K. Manglik, Secretary AOA invited all the Executive Members to be present for the XVth meeting on 21/06/08 at 11:30 AM to discuss the agenda items circulated with meeting notice. The list of participants is attached herewith. At the outset, Sh. Om Prakash Parmar, President welcomed all the Executive Members present in the meeting and requested the Secretary, AOA to take up the agenda Items. The summary record of decisions taken during the meetings are as under: Agenda-1 Shortage of Water in KV-II The Secretary, AOA inform the EC that from the last few months there is acute shortage of water in KV-II especially in pocket-6 & 7 and residents are facing lot of hardship. During this period they are getting only direct water supply and water is not reaching in the overhead water tanks. He further informed that only solution to this problem seems to be either we dig the bore well near all three underground water tanks or make suitable changes in the distribution lines. Sh Bhandari wanted to know whether we are getting full supply of water from Noida Authority as per assessment and payment made to them. President, Secretary and Sh Praveen Sharma, in charge Water Department informed that although we do not have any metering system installed in KV-II so we can not measure the exact quantity of water received from Noida Authority. However, as per assessment, Noida Authority have to supply 17.5 lakh litre water every day to KV-II and approx. we are receiving more than this quantity in normal days. But, due to many reasons such as failure of electricity etc. we are not receiving the sufficient water at a time. This is resulting in failure of normal distribution of water cycle and once the cycle broke it will take at least one week to restore the normal position since we have single distribution liner which goes through pocket-1 to 7 and water reaches in pocket-6 &7 in last after filling all overhead water tanks enroute in pocket-1,2 to 5. Therefore, it is essential that we may have own water source for supplementing the water in emergency situation. S/Sh P. S. Bhandari & Mahendra Singh opposed that no bore well should be digged and water committee should submit its detailed report on this problem incorporating the assessment for quantum of shortage and quantum of water supplied by Noida Authority. They were of the view that this is temporary phase and comes every year in summer month and will automatically solve within one or two months. Thereafter, it was decided by EC that a Committee as detailed below may be formed S/Sh/Smt i) Nagendra Singh Chairman ii) Sh. S. D. Choudhury Member iii) P. S. Bhandari Member iv) Renuka Rajegopal Member v) Sukanta Gupta Member The Committee shall take up the issue of shortage of water in KV-II and make its assessment for quantum of shortage and supply by Noida Authority and suggest the remedial measures. The Committee shall submit its report within 15 days from the issue of formation. Thereafter, meeting ended with vote of thanks to the chair.
