Title: Associate Expert - ERP Change Management Officer Duration: 1 year (with possible extension for another year) Date Required: As soon as possible Duty Station (location, sector): New York, USA

2. Supervision

Title of the supervisor: Senior Change Management Officer

Content and methodology of the supervision:

Under the direct supervision of the Senior Change Management Officer and the overall supervision of the Change Management Team Lead and the Director, ERP Project, the incumbent will, within delegated authority, work within a team environment to accomplish the stated goals and objectives.

3. Duties, responsibilities and output expectations

The ERP Change Management Officer will be responsible for the following duties:

 Applies communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help the Organization streamline administrative processes and procedures.  Assists in developing and deploying change management methodologies and procedures to guide the ERP adoption process.  Contributes to developing and implementing change management, communications and training plans.  Assists in developing a role-based training curriculum and designing training materials for end users to meet the Project training needs.  Coordinates the scheduling of end-user training.  Produces specific communication products, including proposing topics, undertaking research, determining appropriate medium and target audience, preparing production plans, writing drafts, finalizing texts, coordinating approval and distribution.

Results expected: Process re-engineering will rationalize, streamline and standardize the United Nations business processes. A single, integrated ERP system will enhance accountability, transparency, and internal controls for all types of resources. It will help improve decision making and planning capabilities by providing up-to-date and accurate data and reports. The ultimate result will be the fulfillment of the UN mandate more responsively and effectively.

4. Qualifications and experience

Education: Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in business administration, public administration, information science, engineering or related field. A first-level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree

Work experience: Some experience in change management, human resources management, finance, administration, law or related field is desirable.

Languages: English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of a second official UN language is desirable.

After the assignment the ASSOCIATE EXPERT will be able to:

. Understand the process and activities related to the design, build and implementation phases of an ERP project. . Understand the various aspects of change management, including organizational development. . Identify how to improve business processes. . Develop and implement training curriculum and materials. . Tailor language, tone, style and format of communication to match the audience. . Integrate knowledge with broader strategic, policy and operational objectives.

6. Background information

The United Nations Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) project -- called Umoja (meaning “unity” in Swahili) -- will enhance the use of the Organization’s resources, first, by reengineering its processes and practices to be more efficient; and, second, by consolidating the management of all financial, human and physical resources (including for peacekeeping and field missions) under a single global integrated information management system. Umoja will permit the Organization ability to fulfill its mandate more efficiently and effectively.
