Summary and purpose of document

This document contains a survey which is to gauge how NMHSs use media for delivering Public Weather Services, so that WMO could assist them in using new communications technologies.

WMO PWS FOCAL POINT SURVEY

1. INTRODUCTION

The main responsibility of National Meteorological and Hydrological Services (NMHSs) is to ensure the safety of life, the protection of property and the well-being of the public they serve. PWS delivery depends on efficient and effective communication with users. Recent developments in communications technology provide NMHSs with many more communication options.

The purpose of this survey is to learn how NMHSs use media for delivering Public Weather Services, so that WMO can assist NMHSs in using new communications technologies.

This survey contains only five questions. It should take you no longer than 10 minutes to complete. Thank you for your participation.
