DIRECTIONS TO VENUE Landranger 30, Ref. 985478, Postcode AB42 8FQ

From Aberdeen and the South, cross Bridge of Don and head North on the A90. Around the Ellon bypass heading for Peterhead. At the Toll of Birness fork left for Mintlaw on the A952. In Mintlaw take the first exit (left) at the roundabout in the centre of the village (A950). The venue is 1.5km along this road on the left – look for sign to Aden Park.

From the West and North, head for New Pitsligo. Follow the A950 to the south east, the venue is well signposted Aden Park just on the outskirts of Mintlaw.

ADEN PARK IS HEAVILY USED BY THE PUBLIC – ALL RIDERS & CREWS MUST TAKE CARE AND WALK WHERE NECESSARY – TIME ALLOWANCES FOR EXCESSIVE LOSS OF TIME ARE AVAILABLE. NO DOGS ON COURSE / DOGS ON LEADS AT ALL TIMES AT THE VENUE EXCEPT DESIGNATED DOG EXERCISE AREAS. REMOVE ALL MUCK – THERE WILL BE A SKIP PROVIDED. THANK YOU!

ROUTE MARKERS 1. Letter signs and Red/White tape will be the normal form of marking. 2. Yellow tape denotes a hazard. 3. Signs with arrows directing all riders will also be used 4. The disused railway line will only be marked at junctions and turn-off points

CREWING INSTRUCTIONS

Crewing is allowed on any public road. Crews must not use any other access road to the Forest of Deer or any road marked private.

Preferred crewing points are:

White Cow Wood car park and access road between G and CP1. The Observatory Car Park at H. Stuartfield village at CP3 or any public road location between M and X. Public road before U. Station yard at Maud at N.

OVERNIGHT ACCOMODATION

Coralling will be in the fenced showground. All horses must have an individual coral with working electric unit. Camping is available onsite next to the venue. This can be booked via the caravan/camping person at Aden Park - you pay the camp site rates direct to caravan park. http://www.aberdeenshire.gov.uk/caravanparks/locations/mintlaw.asp or 01771 623460 Sleeping in trailers or lorries is also allowed next to the corals. Note: The gate to Aden Park is locked at 10pm and the gate to the caravan park is locked at 11pm.

Newcomers & New Members

 On arrival report to caravan and handover or obtain and complete A5 medical card. If you need help completing your vet sheet the caravan helper can advise. (Members handover mileage card and registration card.)

 Collect numbered bib.

 Check noticeboard for route changes or other instructions 'on the day'.

 Present horse without any tack to competent person wearing your bib, you will also need your vet sheet.

 Tack up and put on your bumbag with your first aid kit (if you don't own one you can hire one from the caravan) and go to start with your vet sheet.

 At the finish collect your finish card from the starter – this will tell you how long you have before your vetting.

 Remove tack and present to competent person within allocated time.

 Return bib to caravan and collect your medical card and rosette.

Event Safety Policy Statement of Intent Scottish Endurance Riding Club will safeguard so far is reasonably practicable the health, safety and welfare of all persons who might be subject to risks from its activities. This will be achieved by co-operating, communicating and co-ordinating with all relevant agencies, organizations, volunteers, etc. necessary to manage the health & safety during the Scottish Endurance organising committees event. This policy requires the total co-operation of all involved with the Scottish Endurance Riding Club – committee, stewards, helpers, competitors, members of the public, etc. We require everyone to:

 Take reasonable precautions in safeguarding the health and safety of themselves and others.

 Observe all health and safety rules and procedures as laid down by Scottish Endurance Riding organising committees, and use all health and safety equipment provided
