The Good News of Jesus Christ
God created us for His glory. Bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the end of the earth, everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory. (Isaiah 43:6-7)
Therefore, it is our duty to live for God’s glory. So, whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. (1 Corinthians 10:31) See also Psalm 50:23 and Romans 4:20.
Yet all of us have failed to glorify God as we should. All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). See also Romans 1:20-23, Romans 3:10, and Ephesians 2:1-3. Failing to glorify God is to value something or someone more than God who has been revealed to us in Jesus Christ.
Therefore, all of us are subject to eternal condemnation by God. The wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23) See also Mark 9:47-48, 2 Thessalonians 1:9, and Revelation 14:11.
Nevertheless, in His great mercy, God sent forth His Son, Jesus Christ, to save sinners by dying in their place on the cross and rising bodily from the dead. Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. (1 Timothy 1:15) See also Romans 4:25.
Turn from sin and trust the Savior. Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved. (Acts 16:31) See also John 1:12 and Acts 3:19.
The benefits purchased by the death of Jesus Christ belong to those who repent of their sin and trust in Him for their salvation. Saving faith is the heartfelt conviction not only that Christ is reliable, but also that He is desirable. It is the confidence that He will come through with His promises and that what He promises is more to be desired than all the world.
Have you turned from sin and trusted Jesus for your salvation? Do you believe His promises, and do you value what He promises more than anything else in the world?
If not, we pray that you will find in Jesus Christ the all-satisfying Treasure who will quench your soul’s thirst and give you rest from your sin. Today you can receive salvation by confessing to God that you have failed to live for His glory, asking Him to forgive your sin based on the work of Jesus on the cross, and receiving His Son into your life by faith in His promises.
