Lesson Plan: Unit: Alcohol Materials Needed: ppalcoholeffects, ppalcoholtruefalse, True False signs, Optional: DVD Alcohol True Stories hosted by Matt Damon; website The Drink Wheel; materials for FAS experiment (baby, bag of water, clear bowl; food coloring) Daily focus: effects of alcohol on oneself and unborn baby Objective: I will investigate the effects of alcohol. 9.ATOD1.6: I will summarize the consequences of alcohol use during pregnancy 9.ATOD2.2: I will demonstrate strategies for avoiding binge drinking 9.ATOD2.1: I will identify ways to avoid riding in the car or other risky behaviors with someone who is under the influence Essential Question: How does low, medium, and high doses of alcohol affect a person? Students will know: how alcohol affects the body, decision making, and an unborn child Students will be able to: develop techniques to turn down alcohol
