This memorial scholarship is named after Anton Micek and Vincent Mausbach, two longtime Columbus residents who were hard working farmers that understood the importance of establishing sound values and principles in life. They raised their families around solid foundations and set examples for their children and grandchildren to follow.

This scholarship program is designed to draw the applicant’s attention to the importance of having a solid foundation in life. A foundation built on key principles. These principles or “pillars” serve to form a solid base from which to build upon throughout life. The six “pillars” that serve as the foundation for this scholarship program are: Faith, Family, Fellowship, Integrity, Stewardship and Gratitude. The selection process for these scholarships will be based on two criteria: 1) The candidate’s involvement in giving back to their community during their high school years and, 2) a 1000-1500 essay on this topic - The Importance of Faith, Family, Fellowship, Integrity, Stewardship and Gratitude in your life. All graduating seniors are eligible to apply for these scholarships. The young men and women awarded scholarships must supply proof they will be attending accredited colleges, universities, or vocational training programs in the coming academic year.
