Old Business:

1. Request to add additional Z39.50 links for searching (providing libraries agree to allow us to search), list was provided to Anne Shepherd for next Director’s meeting. Asked to have duplicate CW Mars link removed as well.

2. Bib Script is not running in 3.5. Maureen has been notified. If no item records are added to a new bib, please manually undisplay this record in the PAC. New material/fine/loan code numbering will remain as it is in 3.5. New Home Branch field has been added to last page of item record, if you copy another PALS library’s item record make sure to change this field or items may float if you copied Clearwater’s records.

3. Re-emphasized the importance of adding 007, 008, and correct LDR fields, to even very brief bibliographic records to display the correct material format (book, cd, dvd etc.) to the patron in the PAC. There are system bibliographic templates available to use in the ordering process: Cataloging, Templates, Bibliographic, Search by Name, for *, and the templates will come up and/or libraries can create their own. New Business:

1. Palm Harbor experiencing theft with teen music cd’s, pulled cds off floor to install security strip.

2. Pinellas Park short staffed. Staff member out on medical leave.

3. Largo as of May 1st no Technical Services department, all items shelf ready, contact Steve Bumgarner, still weeding, fines moving to 15 cents per day.

4. Clearwater will begin floating all AV, large print & paperback collections, loading E book bibs, turning on ILL lending, outsourcing AV materials. Losing many craft books at East and CCS locations. Anticipating cuts in the leased materials budget.

5. Oldsmar waiting on budget outcome.

6. Tarpon has temp full time position catalog/circ, waiting on budget outcome as well.

7. Safety Harbor has First Step Back Packs, check out and return to circ desk, reminder no musical instruments, electronic games in drop box, Legacy program with TBLC has changed firewalls. Lana still out.

8. Dunedin, installing security cameras, interfiling LP with genre.

9. Seminole, everyone assisting with filling in at Children’s Department. Staff member out on maternity leave with twins. They have a volunteer working in shipping & receiving.

10. Gulf Beaches, everything going well.

11. Palm Harbor, working on fund raising with author & band, looked into preprocessing costs for jackets, cross training, interested in having extra databases added for searching bibliographic records such as, Bookwhere connection, Maine connection. Polaris still sluggish in afternoon.

12. St. Petersburg anticipating some cuts in materials budget.

13. Gulfport everything going well.

14. New cookbook subject heading just added by Library of Congress. 15. OCLC update, bib script, authority control discussed.

16. Reminder, if you reactivate holds, they drop to the bottom of list.

17. Still problems accessing Netlibrary for patrons.

18. Continued problems with 006/007 display in Polaris, not fixed with recent upgrade. Questions/Concerns for Polaris:

1. Continued slow response time especially in afternoons.

2. Re-instate Bib Script.

3. New Book RSS feed displaying items that are not “new”. Items to Consider for the Next meeting:
