A big thanks to everyone who filled out our online survey!

We have summarised the results so that you can see how children from across Western Australia participated in March Munch this year. You might like to compare some of the state results to the data you collected for your class.

1. Who filled out the survey?

In total, 305 students completed the survey form.

Almost 1/3 of students who filled in the survey were in grade 2. There weren’t many responses from students in pre-primary, kindy or year 6.

We had most responses from students living in the metro areas of Perth. Students from the Midwest, Wheatbelt and South West education districts also participated. 2. Vegetables eaten during March Munch:

For this question, students could choose more than one answer.

We were pleased to see the variety of vegetables eaten by students! 40% of students who participated in the survey ate 4 or more different types of vegetables for Crunch&Sip® during March Munch.

Eating a variety of vegetables keeps it interesting, and is good for health too!

The most popular vegetables were carrot, cucumber, corn and capsicum. Isn’t it strange that the four most popular vegies all start with ‘C’?

In total, we received completed surveys from 90 teachers. We were blown away by how many students ate vegetables during March Munch!

5. Why do students like to eat vegetables for Crunch&Sip®?

You told us why you like to eat veg for Crunch&Sip® and we would like to share our favourite responses! The most common reasons students gave for liking vegetables are that they are healthy, yummy, crunchy, full of vitamins and taste delicious.

“Because they are healthy and the more we eat the better! Also vegetables are refreshing and delicious.”

“I eat vegies at Crunch&Sip because it gives me energy and fills me up for the rest of the day.”

“Because Crunch&Sip is not just for fruit.”

“They are crunchy.”

“I like to eat vegetables for Crunch&Sip because there are so many different flavours and textures to try.”

“I wanted to try something different.”

“I like to eat vegetables because it refreshes my brain.”

“Because they are healthy for your muscles, cells and your body.”

6. What do students love about Crunch&Sip®?

Students told us that they like Crunch&Sip because it’s healthy, they get to have a break from school work, it stops them from getting hungry, they get to eat something yummy, they get to eat in class, it gives them energy and it’s fun!

“We can have a break from work and eat all kinds of healthy foods!”

“It gives you a chance to eat something different.” “What I love about Crunch&Sip is that we get something to eat and some quiet time before getting back on track to learning.”

“I like Crunch&Sip because I get to rest my brain.”

“Because it makes your brain go.”

“That you can find interesting new vegetables from friends and it’s a little snack so we don’t get hungry.”

“Cut out on the unhealthy junk and eat foods that are better for our bodies.”

“I love that with Crunch&Sip when you’re not focusing you can have vegies and get back on track.”
