25 ERDBA Roster Check-In Protocol 2017

For teams that are using this race as an ERDBA qualifying race, please review the following 2017 race circuit check in protocol to ensure your team is registered accordingly to receive credit for the race. The objective is to ensure club integrity by having registered member/paddler.

1. Clubs submit membership roster to ERDBA. 2. Clubs submit race roster for the event – Baltimore Dragon Boat Challenge at least one week before the race, WITH COPIES OF THE PHOTO IDS 3. On race day, Marshalling staff will verify all racing paddlers using the photo ID’d roster provided for all heats. This may be a little slower during the first marshaling call so please be patient with the staff. 4. Race roster must be solidified before the first race and must not be modified thereafter. Teams can roster up to 25 people inclusive of drummer and steerer (3 alternates). 5. Violations may come because of: a. paddler racing in the boat but not on race roster (item #2) b. paddler on race roster (#2) but not on membership roster (#1) 6. Violation for 6a can be determined at marshaling while 6b will be determined when ERDBA compares race roster (#2) with membership roster (#1). Clubs will be notified in writing of such violation. 7. If a club has been found guilty of the violation, the club will be penalized by not allowing for that event to be counted as a qualifying race. 8. The club, coach and team captain are responsible to adhere to the paddler integrity policy for membership. Any claim of ignorance is not excusable as the policy has been deliberated at length and communicated widely about clubs competing for CCWC race circuit points are required to submit club roster. 9. Appeals may be written within 5 days of notice of violation and sent to ERDBA board for consideration.
