VII. New Business

A. Purchasing Boxee This item is up for discussion / possible action regarding the approval of up to $200.00 from the 73 Equipment Account to purchase Boxee. - VP Chuiko: This item will allow us to play things on the television in the SAC East lounge. We can set it up to display anything we want students to watch. We can manage the content; Boxee works by picking up all channels and playing them from the internet. This isn’t for playing movies necessarily, but rather for streaming from the internet. - We would be able to stream information about the SAC Card Businesses and use it as a publicity tool for students. Any committee could use it to stream wirelessly – a pdf file or powerpoint presentation. The idea behind this is to utilize SAC and the new furniture there. Boxee doesn’t need sound, it will just provide a form of content and information. - Senator Steele moves approve $200 from the 73 Equipment account for purchasing Boxee, Representative Avila seconds, 7 yea, 4 nay.

Each one of you has played a part in changing me in some way, and I am grateful for each of you. I’m really looking forward to the next year. These friendships will last forever. Chris Steele I learned a lot from everyone, and from our advisors, I know in the beginning I made a couple people cry, I always appreciated Gaby calling me out. I think what I learned the most over this year was the different dynamics about how to work with people. The faculty senate met for our last meeting, we talked about the S4C and what a great success it was, one of the teachers said it was the happiest moment in her life. I’ll talk to SAC Card committee and see if we want to meet tomorrow. In the Anthro department it was really great to see the 4th graders looking at the bones and rocks. Some of the kids asked me some hard questions, which was really impressive. James Williams: Thank you everyone for your patience and guidance, everything has been dully noted, I’ve been paying attention and watching you all grow. Thank you for helping me expand my sense of community, thank you for extending that to me and allowing me to be a part of the senate. I want to thank Joseph for your guidance and for stepping up to the plate, I also want to thank Darwin, and Sharon. Sharon is my example of a really dedicated , hard working person. I would love to stay forever and come in check in on you al. I’ll really miss Sharon’s attitude and I’ll miss you all. I’m excited for the future and for each of you. Steven Culver Not present. Sarah Davies The 4th grade experience was so much fun, the kids really had great questions. C. Advisors 5 minutes ea. Sesario Escoto Congratulations to the graduates, you can still petition to graduate. The transfer center is having a reception next week so maybe go by there to celebrate. The entire apple order was rejected because my credit card has a $5000 limit. It delayed reordering for two days, but the inventory for cheaper iPads grew, so we were able to order 12 new iPads. Congratulations to the new senators and in the new administration, the third week in August is the senate retreat. Those of you that did not get elected – I asked you before what you would do if you did not get elected, I hope you will continue your service as a senator there is a high probability you will be appointed to the student senate. Tell your friends to apply as well. I have to commend Kyle for his work in Running Start and the food committee in Running Start, we decided to give the high school students fresh fruit as well as granola bars, thank you for your help Kyle. Bus Pass Committee- remember we need to meet with Kristen Fabos to discuss the passes, don’t let that slide by.

Flor Chacon: The pizza was from Kristen Fabos to thank you all for your support and help. For me there is never an end, only beginning. Make sure if you are leaving that you pass on the projects you want to see continue. You need to pass on your vision to future senators. That includes the Cafeteria project. We voted on increasing the SAC card, if you want to see that move forward you need to make sure you don’t forget that. We did get the furniture in Watsonville, I’ll send an email to everyone to come see it once it is here. Before I give my last minute to Alex I want to congratulate all of you. VP Chuiko: I forgot to tell you that today in this election there are no losers. Every single one of you is a winner, you are winners for yourself, you motivated yourself and you learned and gained this incredible experience. That is bigger than the position. Remember that your work is more important than your title. It is in the bylaws for the old senators to meet with the new.
