As the 2003 flu season approaches, the City of Colorado Springs is especially concerned about your well being. In an effort to minimize the spread of this contagious respiratory disease, flu shots will be offered at no cost to City employees, their eligible dependents, and retirees.

As usual, the shot is voluntary, but if you fall into any of the following high-risk categories, health care professionals recommend that you take the shot:

- 65 years of age or older - any chronic medical condition such as asthma, diabetes or heart problems - frequent public contact

You should NOT take the shot if:

l) you have a fever 2) are presently taking antibiotics, and/or 3) are allergic to eggs, chicken, chicken feathers or thimersol

The flu clinics will be held as follows:

Date: Monday, October 20th Place: City Administration Building, 30 South Nevada, Suite #102 Time: 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.

Date: Tuesday, October 21st Place: Prevers Pavilion (Fontanero Complex) Time: 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Date: Wednesday, October 22nd Place: Airport, 3rd Level (Conference Room B) Time: 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.

Date: Thursday, October 23rd Place: Police Operations Center (East Com. Room) 705 S. Nevada Time: 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Date: Friday, October 24th Place: Police Operations Center (East Com. Room) 705 S. Nevada Time: 7:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.

If you cannot make any of the above-listed dates, please call Jana Bartlett, Human Resources Benefits, at 385-5161 for alternatives.
