The Dec. 17 at Hawaii (BigWestTV) L, 79-80 win also secured the Wolverines the No. 2 seed at this week’s WAC Tournament, where the team will take on seventh-seeded CSU Bakersfield on Dec. 20 Montana Tech (WDN) W, 84-56 Thursday in a quarterfinal matchup at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas. Tip-off is set for 2:30 p.m. (PT)/3:30 p.m. (MST). Dec. 22 at Sam Houston State W, 75-64 Dec. 28 UC Riverside (WDN) W, 90-82 • Five UVU players earned WAC postseason honors. Kenneth Ogbe was named to the All-WAC first team, while Conner Toolson and Brandon Randolph earned second team All-WAC honors. Akolda Manyang was named to the WAC’s All-Defensive team and Jake Toolson was named to the Dec. 30 Cal State Fullerton (WDN) W, 87-78 WAC All-Newcomer team. Manyang was also named to the USBWA All-District team, becoming only the second player in UVU history to earn the distinction. NBA journeyman Ronnie Price is the only other UVU player to earn USBWA All-District honors (2004-05). Jan. 06 *CSU Bakersfield (WDN/OTT) W, 75-42 Jan. 11 *Kansas City (UVUtv/WDN/OTT) W, 95-59 • The Wolverines wrapped up regular season play on Saturday night with a 73-47 win over Seattle U. UVU’s six seniors/graduates combined for 35 Jan. 13 *Chicago St. (UVUtv/WDN/OTT) W, 83-58 points in the senior night victory. Junior Conner Toolson put in a 17-point performance on four makes from long distance. He also added six re- bounds, three assists and two steals. Kenneth Ogbe scored 13 points, while also pulling down six rebounds and dishing out two assists. Brandon (WDN/OTT) Jan. 18 *at UTRGV W, 84-76 Randolph scored eight points, grabbed five rebounds and delivered three assists for the Wolverines in his senior send-off. Jan. 20 *at NM State (ESPN3) L, 59-86 Jan. 27 *Grand Canyon (ESPN3) W, 68-56 • Utah Valley earned its 21st victory of the season with its win over Seattle U on March 3. The win marks the highest win total of head coach Mark Pope’s tenure at Utah Valley, improving upon last season’s win total of 17. It marks the fifth time in school history that a team has won 20 or more games. The last time UVU won at least 20 games was during the 2013-14 season when the Wolverines finished the season with a 20-12 record. Feb. 03 *at Seattle U (WDN/OTT) L, 54-55 The most wins in UVU’s Division I era with a full Division I schedule came during the 2006-07 season when the team won 22 games. UVU can Feb. 08 *at Chicago State (WDN/OTT) W, 97-57 match the 22-game record with a win on Thursday. Feb. 10 *at Kansas City (WDN/OTT) L, 70-77 Feb. 15 *NM State (UVUtv/WDN/OTT) W, 86-79 • Utah Valley is tied for the fourth-longest current home win streak in the nation at 13 games. South Dakota State holds the nation’s longest current home win streak at 20 games, followed by the College of Charleston and Wagner at 16 games in a row. Utah Valley wrapped up its home slate Feb. 17 *UTRGV (UVUtv/WDN/OTT) W, 84-72 this season with a school-record 15-1 mark at the UCCU Center, surpassing the previous record of 14-1 set by the 2006-07 team. Feb. 22 *at CSU Bakersfield (ESPN3) W, 70-47 Feb. 24 *at Grand Canyon (ESPN3) L, 59-60 • Utah Valley has five players averaging double figures. Kenneth Ogbe leads the team in scoring at 13.4 points per game. Akolda Manyang ranks second on the team at 12.9 points per game. Conner Toolson is third at 12.6 points a contest. Jake Toolson averages 11.4 points, followed by Brandon Randolph at 11.0. March 3 *Seattle U (UVUtv/WDN/OTT) 7 p.m. (ESPN3) March 8 ^#7 CSU Bakersfield 2:30pm PT • UVU opened the season with what might just be the toughest 24 hours ever played in college basketball history as the Wolverines took on No. March 9 WAC Semifinal (ESPN3) 6pm PT 4/5 Kentucky and No. 1 Duke on back-to-back nights to open the season. The Wolverines dropped a 73-63 decision at Kentucky before falling March 10 WAC Championship (ESPNU) 7pm PT 99-69 at Duke. UVU has since won 21 of its 28 games since the loss at Duke. The Wolverines hold an all-time 2-4 Press Row (801) 863-5209 record at the tournament. UVU’s lone wins at the tournament were a 83-63 win over UTRGV in the quarterfinals of Affiliation NCAA Division I Conference Western Athletic Conference the 2013 tournament and a 65-53 quarterfinal win over No. 5 Seattle U in the 2017 tournament. This year’s No. 2 President Dr. Matthew S. Holland seed is the highest ranking UVU has earned since winning the regular season WAC title and taking the No.
