How to upgrade the ESC Connections Server to Version 11
These directions will walk you through how to upgrade the ESC Connections Server to Version 11.
Download the ESC Connections Server
Go to the computer where your ESC database is installed. This will usually be your server.
1. Go to the Version 11 download site at http://descosupport.com/support/updates11release.html 2. Click the Download button for the ESC Connections Server and save it to your desktop.
Uninstall Previous Version
You are now ready to uninstall the ESC Connections Server.
1. Click Start | Control Panel. 2. Select Add or Remove Programs for Windows XP or Program and Features for Windows Vista/7 from the resulting list. 3. Highlight ESC Connections Server from the list of available programs and click Remove. 4. Select Yes to uninstall the software.
Install ESC Connections Server 11
1. Find the ESC Connections Server Setup.exe file you downloaded and double click it. If you don’t have Microsoft .NET 4.0 installed it may take a few minutes for the setup program to download it. The download takes place in the background so you won’t see a progress bar or anything. After it has finished downloading you’ll see an installation wizard pop up that you’ll need to go through. 2. After .NET 4.0 is installed, ESC Connections Server installation screen will appear. 3. Click Next through the wizard to get to the next screen. 4. Accept the default installation path and press NEXT to continue through the wizard and start the installation. 5. After the installation is finished, simply click the Close button.
Launching and confirm the status
1. Go to Start | All Programs | dESCO | ESC Connections Server.
2. Double click the blinking blue icon in your Windows System Tray, the ESC Connections Server Administrator window should appear. 3. The final step is to now click on Settings in the lower-left corner of the screen and then click the Test Settings button to verify you have a good connection to your ESC database.
