This is a sample program to provide you with a format for all School of Music Student Recital programs. Use this as a template, highlighting and replacing the information (as appropriate) for content, while preserving the formatting and minimizing the work needed to edit and prepare it for printing.

Example: First, do a “SAVE AS” and give the new document a new name. Then, click “SAVE”. Then instead of deleting everything and starting from scratch, try marking (highlighting) a block of text such as a composition title. Then type over the highlighted area with your new composition title. That way (in this example), you preserve the italics in the title. You will also preserve the necessary spacing.

Note: * Use all capital letters and the largest font size on the page For the recitalist’s name on the title page. *Do not use academic titles for any of the performers (including accompanists). *List all collaborators on the title page. *Give composer dates, if available. Dates should be right- aligned beneath the composer’s name. *Italicize titles of pieces. Do not italicize movements. *Keep movement numerals and names left-aligned. *If a selection is from a larger work: The title of the piece should be italicized and in quotation marks, followed by the word “from” (not in italics or capitalized), followed by the title of the larger work, in italics. Example: "O soave fanciulla" from La boheme *Translations, notes, and biographies may be included, (but please make them as concise as possible). *Do not include personal acknowledgements on the program. If you wish to thank an instructor or recognize family members, etc. you may do so on a separate piece of paper (and provide copies for distribution with the programs).
