Bill Shires Head of Development Stone Age, Inc. 466 S Skylane Drive Durango, CO 81301

Dear Bill: On behalf of Fort Lewis College’s Local Business class, directed by Dr. Huggins, we would like to thank you for giving us a tour of your facilities and teaching our class about Stone Age and the water blast tools that you produce. Some of us we did not know many details about the company, how it was started, different tools used in the creation and extension of the company, or even if Stone Age existed in Durango CO. The tour was filled with great information including products offered and day to day operations that exemplified what the company really has to offer.

For a small company like Stone Age, engulfed in a small mountain town, it is incredible to see a business grow like it has in such a segmented market. For that to be possible it takes passionate individuals who have a direction for success, and dedicate their time and effort to seeing the company grow. Stone Age designs and sells high pressure water blasting nozzles to replace harmful chemical cleans and thousands of man hours to effectively clean any sort of pipe or tank. Stone Age gives us an example of how a small company can still make such a huge difference in the world. As for business students, Stone Age gave great examples of how to start a successful business and how to use new innovation and creativity to stay alive in a world filled with strategy and competition.

As successful as Stone Age has become, the company is just like any other in that there are always ways to cut costs, make improvements, and gain more market share. A couple of ideas for improvement that the class has come up with include:

 As Chinook Med Gear does, contract with the government to clean navy ships.

 Purchase a plane for expedited shipping and keep it at Animas Air Park.

 Partner with the City or a sculptor to make a communal water fountain park or display.

Once again thank you for taking the time to speak to the local business class from Fort Lewis College. Each of us has learned something that can help us in our business careers.

Sincerely, Local Business Class, Fort Lewis College [Recipient Name] May 27, 2012 Page 2
