4th Grade Ambassador Application Student’s Name: ______Teacher: ______PARENT SECTION As part of the Leader in Me program, we are developing leadership teams at MES. One of those teams will be ambassadors for our school. The ambassadors will represent our school as greeters and tour guides at different events at our school. These events may include PTO programs, Book Fair, days when we have special visitors, Read Across America day, welcoming new students, and more. Some of the events may require the ambassadors to stay after school or come back to school in the evening, so you need to be willing to help with after school pick-up or drop-off arrangements. Students may not have to serve as an ambassador at every special event. The ambassadors may also help teach younger MES students how to greet visitors to our school. This is a very important leadership position, and good behavior will be expected. A good ambassador is someone who is friendly, who does not mind talking to adults and other students, who knows their way around the school, who is a positive role model, and who uses the 7 Habits in their daily life. This is a very important leadership position, and good behavior will be expected. We have lots of great leaders at our school, but only a few fourth grade students can be selected as part of this team. To be considered for selection, students must complete an application. The application must be signed by a parent/legal guardian. Your child’s teacher will be able to make notes on the application. All applications will then be given to our school Leadership Team, which is made up people who work at MES. The Leadership Team will then conduct interviews and will select the ambassadors. We want students who want to make themselves, their families, their class, the fourth grade, and MES GREAT! All applications are due on Thursday, September 6, 2012. Students may turn the application in early, but no late or incomplete applications will be accepted. By signing below, I understand that my child may be asked to stay after school or return to school for special events (i.e book fair or PTO program.) I give my child permission, if selected, to be a 2012-2013 4th Grade Ambassador.
