In various emails to the ABC15 Investigators, James T. Reynolds II sent the following statements:
Our administrative salaries, including the CEO's salary, is below national averages for charities of our mission, size and scope. This can be validated through independent statistical compensation surveys, such as those conducted annually by charity review agencies like GuideStar or Charity Navigator, to name a couple. We are a fairly young organization (in our fourth year of operation), and as such, we are constantly expanding and developing our ability and the tools at our disposal to raise public awareness and support. Tele- fundraising has historically been an expensive way to develop support and awareness and we recognize this. We are constantly working to build more cost-effective methods, including special events, corporate grants and underwriting, and so on. We are optimistic about our future ability to reduce our overall cost of fundraising this year and in the future. Our international program of distributing aid consist of acquiring donated medicines and needed supplies for the treatment of breast cancer patients and their families in impoverished circumstances around the globe. We do this through acquiring the donations, finding reputable and reliable service partners in developing countries that provide primary medical care to breast cancer patients and their families in their areas. These recipient organizations consists primarily of hospitals, medical clinics, and organizations of licensed relief workers. With respect to our ability to accurately value and provide verifiable documentation of the donations, we adhere strictly to standards as established by AERDO / The GIK Affinity Group / The Accord Network (see: http://www.aerdo.net/GIK/docs/GIK_Standards_Ver2009.pdf ) Please understand, that we do our local pickup of donations every Monday and restock our shelves Monday evening and Tuesday. The activity and demand is such that the shelves are usually bare by the weekend. If you would like to come back at some other point earlier in the week, I'm sure you will be more satisfied with the program.
