1. Read pages 152 – 155 in textbook “We Live Together” – Macmillan/McGraw- Hill. 2. Record and define vocabulary words – slavery and civil war.

3. Research three heroes of the war. ( Harriet Tubman, Frederick Douglass, Abraham Lincoln) Take notes.

A. Who were they? B. What role did each person play in the war? C. Name one interesting thing you found out about each hero. 4. Use the following websites to read and learn about each person.

5. With a partner and using the information from the websites and text, create an inspiration web which displays a graphic organizer of Tubman, Douglass, and Lincoln. Three character traits should be used to describe each hero. Illustrations should also be present.
