Pre-installation procedure

If your FJ Cruiser has either rock rails or side steps installed, please remove them following the manufacturers recommended procedure.

______Installation Instructions Page 1 of 4 www.demello-offroad.com FJ Cruiser Hybrid Sliders Installation procedure

1.) Use a 10mm socket to remove the front and rear brake line brackets and bolts.

2.) Remove the front and rear brackets from the brake line by expanding the bracket with a flat head screwdriver and slipping the bracket over the brake cable.

Note: Set the brackets and bolts aside as they will be used in a later step.

3.) Hold one hybrid slider up to your FJ. Align the bolt holes in the mounting bracket with OEM mounting holes in the frame. Insert a bolt with a lock washer and a flat washer into the mounting hole of the upper front bracket and hand tighten.

Hint: We recommend having a friend help hold the slider in place for this step. If a friend is not available a floor jack and a piece of 2”x4” that spans the length of the slider can be used to lift the slider into position.

4.) Install the remaining bolts with lock washers and flat washers into slider brackets. Begin with the upper rear bracket bolt.

Note: The hybrid sliders have elongated bolt holes that allow for adjustment of the sliders forward & backwards. 5.) Use a 13 mm socket and a torque wrench and torque each slider mount bolt to 22 lbf-ft (30 N-m).

Using the brake cable brackets removed in step #2 and a 10mm socket reinstall the brake cable brackets in the opposite locations from where they were removed. In other words, install the rear bracket in the front mounting location and the front bracket in the rear mounting location.

7.) Install the front brake cable bracket in the rear mounting location in the frame.

Note: Switching the location of the brake cable brackets will allow enough slack in the brake line, so the brake cable passes over the rear slider mount bracket.

8.) After the brake cable bracket installation is complete use a pair of pliers to gently bend the front bracket up towards the bottom of the FJ. The brake line should rest lightly on the rear slider mount.
