Manual for using BEL drop box

1. BEL drop box is an application to share larger size files . Normally up to 15 MB can be sent thro mail server as an attachment . This is an alternative for ftp server.

2. BEL drop box can be accessed by all the BEL Email users , using their Email credentials.

3. The BEL drop box can be accessed using url https://digicloud.bel.co.in or thro menu which is provided within a new webmail server (https://bemail.bel.co.in).

4. The quota for each user is 1 GB , the users can share upto 1GB of files with others.

5. The attachment size for each user is 500 MB , the users at any point of time can attach upto 500 MB of files.

Procedure for sharing files :

6. Login to the BEL drop box.

7.Select + symbol as shown below

8. Select Upload menu and upload required files from the desktop. 9. Once the file is uploaded , select the file to be shared with others as shown below

10. After selecting “sharing” menu a rectangle box appears.

11. Type first few characters of the email id (eg. anilkumar) all email ids starting with anilkumar will be displayed in the box, type the email id which you want to share the file.

13. Files can be shared in two ways they are :

Method 1 :

I.By sharing the file thro email link . In this method, files can be shared with BEL domain users (bel.co.in) and as well as outside domain users (gmail,yahoo etc..). i. Select “Share link” button. Ii. If the file is confidential , select “Password protect” and give the password. The password has to be shared with recipients thro mail,phone or sms. iii. Shared file will expire after 7 days. iv. From the rectangular box ,type the required email id which you want to share the file. v. Click select “send link via Email” as shown below. vi. After sharing the file, an Email link with the attachment is sent to the recipients . The recipients can download the file thro this link into his desktop. Method 2 :

II.By sharing the file and sending the notification to the user. In this method, files can be shared only with BEL domain users (bel.co.in). After sharing the files ,select the BEL users from the rectangular box and select “notify by email” button. The email notification will be sent to the recipients. The user has to login to the BEL dropbox and download the files.

14. By default , the shared files will be deleted from the server after 7 days.
