GUIDELINES

1. This form is intended to cover cases where:

A A learner or learners on a programme have been referred or granted a resit; B A learner or learners on a programme have been granted an extension of the learning agreement; C A learner who has deferred is now returning to the programme.

2. The regulations governing all these cases should be explicitly included in the definitive programme documentation lodged with Gateway Qualifications and should normally be in effect from the beginning of the programme concerned.

3. Form NR should be completed by either the Programme Co-ordinator or Centre Contact, signed by the Centre Contact and countersigned by the Moderator for the programme.

4. The original should be sent to the Examinations Office (or local equivalent) for processing before being forwarded to Gateway Qualifications. We recommend that all parties keep a copy for their own records.

5. In cases A and B where a number of learners need to be notified to Gateway Qualifications a typed list of names and registration numbers may be attached to a copy of this form which has been appropriately completed and signed.

6. In case C, where a re-registration fee waiver is being requested, it is the responsibility of the Provider to ensure that supporting evidence has been obtained and placed on record and that the Moderator has been able to see this material. The Gateway Qualifications office may also request a copy of this evidence if required for audit. Gateway Qualifications will then normally grant a waiver for re-registration on any run of the programme beginning within 13 calendar months of the end date of the run which the learner had left.

7. In circumstances not covered satisfactorily by any of the cases above or other circumstances considered exceptional the Provider may write to the Director of Access to HE (for Access Programmes) regarding a learner. Gateway Qualifications will have the final decision in the matter.
