THE LEARNING COMMUNITY FOR ESSENTIAL LIFESTYLE PLANNING, INC.

THIS IS THE WAY WE WANT THE WORLD TO BE.

All people have positive control over the lives they have chosen for themselves.

THIS IS WHAT WE WILL DO.

To help a group of people around the world teach each other about helping people get the lives they want.

THIS IS WHO WE PLAN TO SPEND MOST OF OUR TIME HELPING.

People who do not have positive control over their lives or are at risk of losing it because of how other people feel about their disability.

THESE ARE THE THINGS THAT ARE IMPORTANT TO US.

Learning  We are a group that does this work and learns from it  We always give what we learn back to the group  We are happy to share what we learn  We help people the way they want to be helped  We help each other to create and find what we need

Respect and Trust  We put people first  We communicate openly  We welcome others  We are open and honest about how we do things  We behave morally  We do things in ways that help people think better  We welcome all people from all backgrounds  We are sensitive to people’s differences

Working with others  We believe that we all have something to share  We figure out problems by working together  We thank everyone for helping out when things go well  We thank people for trying to do things whether they work or not Leadership  We are guided by people who want positive control over their own lives.  We are lead by people who are good at figuring out how things could be better  People who naturally feel they want to help others become our leaders  We all have a say in the decisions that involve us  We do work that ends up changing things for the better

THIS IS THE WORK WE DO EVERYDAY

 Share things we learn on helping people get the lives that they want.

 Find ways to share and learn more by getting individual and groups of people together.

 Find the best ways to help people show us what the lives they want look like, how they want to be helped, and how to think about the work we do.

 Find ways to make sure that the people who train others in what we do, do it really well.

 Figure out the best ways to help people get the lives that they want and help people and agencies use what we learn.
