For this fall semester final exam, you need to know:

 All of your vocabulary from the Review Unit (first 4 weeks), from Chapter 1 (Viaje en Tren) and Chapter 2 (En el Restaurante).

 How to know how to conjugate all of the verbs on the other side of this page in both the present and preterite tenses.

 The meanings of and how to respond to the questions from the two one-on-one oral assessments (Preguntas Personales, Part I and Part II) that we have done this semester (see other side). Be prepared to answer those same questions correctly and thoroughly in written form.

Recall that the Review Unit covered the following grammar concepts:  Present tense of regular –AR, -ER, and –IR verbs.  Present tense of boot (stem-changing) verbs (see other side of this page.)  Present tense of ir, ser, estar, dar Recall that Chapters 1 and 2 covered the following grammar concepts:  Preterite endings for all regular –AR, -ER/-IR verbs.  Preterite endings for ir (to go) and ser (to be).  Preterite endings for dar (to give) and ver (to see).  Preterite conjugation (and meaning) of the following e-to-i verbs (in the preterite)(3rd person only): pedir, servir, freír, seguir, repetir, preferir, divertirse, vestirse  Preterite conjugation (and meaning) of the following o-to-u verbs (in the preterite): morir, dormir

In addition, you MUST know the following frequently used terms:

Boot verbs (boot verbs only in the present tense)(you should also know preterite forms): querer (e-ie) = to want poder (o-ue) = to be able preferir (e-ie) = to preferencontrar (o-ue)=to find tener (e-ie) = to have jugar (u-ue) = to play dormir (o-ue) = to sleep cerrar (e- ie) = to close perder (e-ie) = to lose divertirse (e-ie) = to have fun despertarse (e-ie) = to wake up pensar (e-ie) = to think comenzar (e-ie) = to begin empezar (e-ie) = to begin

Yo-Go verbs (yo-go in the present tense only) traer – to bring salir – to leave/to go out poner – to put/to set hacer = to make/to do venir = to come oír = to hear

Essential Irregulars (know them in the present and preterite* tense) (*not estar in pret.) dar = to give estar = to be ser = to be ir = to go
