1.4 DESIGN / PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS

4.A. Electrical Components, Devices, and Accessories: Comply with requirements of applicable local codes, NEC, UL, and NEMA Standards pertaining to indoor service poles and architectural columns. Listed and labeled in accordance with NFPA 70, Article 100.

4.B. Electrical Boxes and Fittings: Comply with requirements of applicable local codes, NEC, UL, ETL, and NEMA Standards pertaining to boxes and fittings. Listed and labeled in accordance with NFPA 70, Section 300-21.

4.C. Products: Listed and classified by Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. as suitable for the purpose specified and indicated.

1.5 SUBMITTALS

5.A. Submit under provisions of Section 01300.

5.B. Product Data: Manufacturer's data sheets on each product to be used, including: 5.B.1. Preparation instructions and recommendations. 5.B.2. Storage and handling requirements and recommendations. 5.B.3. Installation methods.

5.C. Manufacturer's Certificates: Certify products meet or exceed specified requirements.

1.6 QUALITY ASSURANCE

6.A. Manufacturer Qualifications: Firms regularly engaged in manufacture of box distribution products and systems of the types and sizes required for not less than 5 years.

6.B. Source Limitation: Obtain each type of enclosure through one source from a single manufacturer.

6.C. Mock-Up: Provide a mock-up for evaluation of surface preparation techniques and application workmanship. 6.C.1. Finish areas designated by Architect. 6.C.2. 16130-2 Do not proceed with remaining work until workmanship is approved by Architect. 6.C.3. Refinish mock-up area as required to produce acceptable work.

1.7 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING

7.A. Store products in manufacturer's unopened packaging until ready for installation.

7.B. Store and handle in strict compliance with manufacturer's written instructions and recommendations.

7.C. Protect from damage due to weather, excessive temperature, and construction operations.

1.8 PROJECT CONDITIONS

8.A. Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's absolute limits.

PART 3 EXECUTION

3.1 EXAMINATION

1.A. Examine conditions under which enclosures are to be installed. Do not proceed with installation until substrates have been properly prepared and deviations from manufacturer's recommended tolerances are corrected.

1.B. Do not begin installation until substrates have been properly prepared.

1.C. If substrate preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect of unsatisfactory preparation before proceeding.

3.2 PREPARATION

2.A. Clean surfaces thoroughly prior to installation.

2.B. Prepare surfaces using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the substrate under the project conditions.

3.3 INSTALLATION

3.A. Install in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.

3.B. Enclosures are indicated on Drawings in approximate locations unless dimensioned.

3.C. Enclosures in a non-fire-rated wall must be flush mounted and meets minor installation specifications for cabinets per NFPA 70. Enclosures are UL listed, and cabinets shall be installed flush or within 1/4 inch of the wall surface for combustible and noncombustible walls, 16130-9 and openings in the cabinet where conductors enter shall be adequately closed.

3.D. Install enclosures and fittings to preserve fire resistance rating of slabs and other elements, using materials and methods specified in Section 07840 and 16070.

3.E. Install wall mounted enclosures at elevations to accommodate mounting heights as indicated on Drawings.

3.F. Support enclosures independently of conduit.

3.4 SECURE NETWORK INSTALLATION

4.A. Strictly comply with manufacturer's installation instructions and recommendations and approved shop drawings. Coordinate installation with adjacent work to ensure proper clearances and to prevent electrical hazards. Ensure installation compliance with site CTTA (and/or DAA (Designated Approval Authority).

4.B. Mechanical Security: WSSR two piece raceway shall have structurally interlocking base seams and cover seams offset.

4.C. Raceway Support: Raceway shall be supported by 3 mounting brackets per 10 foot length. Raceway fittings shall be supported by 2 mounting brackets per fitting.

4.D. All pre-located raceway mounting holes shall be used to secure system in place.

4.E. Accessories: Provide accessories as required for a complete installation, where required by manufacturer.

3.5 FIRE STOP THRU-WALL/THRU-FLOOR FITTINGS INSTALLATION

5.A. Prior to and during installation, refer to the system layout or approval drawings containing all elements of the system. Installer shall comply with complete system instruction sheets.

5.B. The firestop device shall be installed in accordance with the UL Fire Resistance Directory, as well as any applicable codes and standards for general building, electrical and firestopping installation practices.

3.6 PROTECTION

6.A. Protect installed products until completion of project.

6.B. Touch-up, repair or replace damaged products before Substantial Completion.
