Editorial Note; This is the good thing about being the newsletter editor; you get to write something in order to help ‘fill in the holes’ of the newsletter. I realize that I publically thanked Jeff for his help in sending me information and pictures concerning car shows and other activity that the club had participated in, but I just wish to say it again that I really appreciate the effort he has taken and is still taking concerning this matter. I also wish to thank those of you who also have taken the time to e-mail me information for the newsletter. This newsletter is to try to not only keep members notified of upcoming events, but to also to keep members informed as to what the club as well as the individual members of the club have been doing. There are times during the year that the newsletter is very full of events that the members have been involved with, but I would like to suggest that there should be some room made available for other news concerning our members, i.e. I know there are medical issues that some might wish to share that maybe they might need temporarily need help with yard work or cooking? Or ‘societal’ issues such as marriages that might be coming up or maybe someone might need some assistance cleaning their car in order to get it “show worthy” for the summer months. And as to what Lance is doing as to getting the members together on these mid-month cruises I believe is great. It’s good to have a reason to get together as a group, whether we drive our Mustangs or not to the gathering and not really needing to have the car “show ready”. Some of you might get together from time to time during the year for a BBQ or picnic during the year, but I would suspect that without these cruises most of the club members would only see each other at meeting and possibly car shows. As to members paying their dues in a timely manner; Maybe we should consider our Christmas party and/or our yearly banquet the start of our year instead of something we do for the end of our year. This way those who have not paid their dues by October or November would not be entitled to attend either of these events. Just a thought….. Thank you for the ‘welcome back’ for Amy and I. It’s sometimes difficult to realize that we have really been gone for 18 months. We missed being here, but we still don’t know if we are all that glad to be back. We had such a terrific time on the road. We found out just how much you don’t need to “live” with. We also found out that it is sort of nice to have roots to come home to and friends that care. Whether we return to the “road” again will be determined as to how the Lord will answer prayers concerning my eye sight and if our house sells. Thank you again for your well wishes; Doug and Amy Heilman2
2I never cease to be dumbfounded by the unbelievable things people believe.
